THERE WAS NOTHING but heat radiating off my chest as I walked through the paddock. The leather of my handbag was merging badly with the sweat, creating an almost superglue like substance between it and my skin.

I had spent the past weeks doing nothing but panic about the upcoming race plan that had been decided for me.

My promise to wear the famous papaya orange had fallen flat only hours beforehand, the sight that I had caught in the mirror whilst getting ready being enough to scare me away from the colour for many months to come.

Tess however had decided upon going full fangirl, signified by the hat and jersey she was wearing. The same jersey she had promised me if necessary. Quinn had joined me in the toned down approach, the others sporting some form of red to making what they were heading towards easily identifiable.

"Well, this is where we must part ways." Adelina stated, already starting with her slight over dramatics. Her arms were wide in feigned disappointment.

"Goodbye traitors." Marcus laughed, sending a kiss our way as he walked backwards into the hospitality area.

The three of us couldn't help but shake our heads at their actions, watching as they disappeared with wide smiles covering their faces. We instead made our way to where we were wanting to go, Tessa making sure to explain to us exactly what we needed to know on the way there.

"Where's the orange?" Was the first thing Lando could say to me as he waited outside the McLaren hospitality building. His eyes looked at me up and down, taking in the sight of the Mercedes bracelet Quinn had made for me.

"It made me look like Vector." I complained as I walked up to him, wrapping him in a quick hug which he gladly accepted. "Or even Garfield if I crossed my arms over my chest."

He sighed dramatically, his eyes diverting upwards in thought of how to respond, "I loved Garfield as a kid. I'll make sure to grab you a shirt from upstairs later."

The smile that followed was one I would find hard to argue with, earning a snort from my friends behind. I couldn't help but mumble under my breath about how he was lucky I was wearing shorts this Friday in particular before stepping out of the way, allowing the others in beside me.

They all greeted eachother with arrays of happiness, Quinn making sure to be the first out of the two to greet 'her favourite', a nickname which he wouldn't be loosing anytime soon.

Lando made sure to wrap his hand in mine as he began a short tour around where we would be spending most of the weekend, using the time before he was needed in the garage wisely. Earlier on, he had made sure Max saved the best seats possible for us to watch the free practise from, though this was a fact that he wouldn't be willing to admit for many weeks to come.
