I had just finished in teacher training college and had been posted in a school in my district to teach. I didn't know much about the place but had a friend also teaching there who knew the place very well. The first day, teaching was just good and I loved it. Due to the transportation cost, I asked my friend Mick who also taught there to help me get an apartment to occupy . He accepted and asked me to meet him at the stuff common room when we close so that he can take me to the place I can get the apartment.
When we closed, he sent me to the owner of the apartments. The distance from the school to the apartment area was about fifteen miles away. I actually loved it because Mick also occupied an apartment in the area. I introduced myself to the owner as her new tenant.
She took me on a tour around the place to choose an apartment I want. We searched until I came across one apartment, so big and as beautiful as beautiful can be. I asked for that apartment but they persistently said “ no”. I asked why I can't get it then they told me a dark secret behind the apartment.
“ It was given to a lady to occupy with her boyfriend. Later on her boyfriend cheated on her which caused her to commit suicide. From that day, the house has been haunted and no one has been able to stay in. They all complain of seeing strange things and hearing weird noises” the owner said with Mick backing. I being a teacher who doesn't believe in ghost still asked for the apartment so I was given the apartment to occupy.
I was to move in the next day so I went back to pack my belongings. The next day, I moved in with spike, my dog. I stood in front of the house just staring at it. We entered and started preparing the place. In the evening, I went to the kitchen to prepare some food for spike and myself while spike slept on the mat behind the door. When the sun died completely and I still cooking, I heard spike groaning as if he had seen something. He continued to bark so I went there to see what was wrong with him. He looked afraid of something. I have him meat and proceeded to cook. After a while, food was ready. I prepared the dinning table to eat while spike perched beside me eating. There, spike started to bark again and within a second later, I felt very cold as if we weren't alone in the house. There was indeed another presence in the house. There I started to excrete an ocean of sweat. I turned back but there was nothing there.
When we had finished eating, I went to bed while spike slept in front of my door. When the clock stroke eleven o' clock pm, spike started to bark once again. There I saw a shadow standing in front of my door outside then it moved to the other side of my corridor. I got up and headed out of my room. The store room's door was opened and the light were off while I remember I turned it on when I was going to bed. I went in to turn it on but bounced back in fear when I placed my hand on the switch to turn it on. I felt some cold body on it. I moved into the light and I could see only eyes in the darkness as it's teeth grew weird and evil. It came closer and closer to me then I screamed.
Later I found myself in the hospital with Mick and the owner sitting behind me. They said they heard me scream so they came in to see what is wrong with me and found me unconscious on the floor. They quickly brought me to the hospital to check me up. I told them what ever I had seen and asked them to help me pack my things out of the apartment. From that day, I heed to advices.
