But just as the moment was about to reach its peak, a sharp sound cut through the air—his phone ringing loudly on the nightstand.

Alexander froze, his body tensing with frustration. He let out a low growl, his forehead resting against Sophia's for a moment as the phone continued to ring. He wanted to ignore it, to let it go, but the persistent ringing was impossible to block out.

"Leave it," he muttered against her lips, his voice rough with desire.

Sophia, still breathless, gently touched his cheek. "It might be important," she whispered, her voice soft but insistent.

Alexander sighed, clearly not happy about the interruption. He reached for the phone, not bothering to check the caller ID before answering.

"Make sure whatever you want to say is important," he snapped into the phone, his voice filled with barely contained frustration.

On the other end, Mark hesitated, clearly aware he had interrupted something. "Uh, boss... I'm sorry to bother you, but this is serious."

Alexander closed his eyes, trying to rein in his temper. "It better be," he said through gritted teeth.

Mark, sensing the tension, quickly got to the point. "A suspicious man was seen entering the police station where Gerald is being held. He went straight to see Gerald, and they spoke for a while. We’re not sure who he is yet, but it didn’t look like a normal visit. I thought you’d want to know."

That got Alexander’s attention. He pulled back from Sophia, his expression immediately shifting from frustration to focus. "You're sure?" he asked, his tone now all business.

"Yes, sir," Mark confirmed. "We’ve got eyes on the station, and we’re looking into the man. But I thought you’d want to be informed right away."

Alexander sat up, running a hand through his hair as he processed the information. "Good work. Keep an eye on the station, and report any further movements."

"Will do," Mark replied. "Sorry again for the... timing."

Alexander hung up the phone, his jaw clenched as he stood from the bed, already reaching for his jacket. Sophia sat up, watching him with concern.

"Is everything alright?" she asked, her voice soft.

"There's something going on with Gerald," Alexander said, his tone clipped. "I need to take care of it."

Sophia nodded, understanding. "Be careful."

He paused, looking down at her with a mix of regret and longing. "I will. And when I get back..." He trailed off, a promise lingering in the air between them.

Sophia smiled softly, her heart racing. "I'll be waiting."

With that, Alexander leaned down, pressing a quick but heated kiss to her lips before rushing out of the room. He didn’t waste a second as he called Mark to get more details, his mind already working on what could be Gerald’s next move.

But one thing was clear—this wasn’t over. And Alexander was going to make sure that whatever Gerald had planned would be stopped before it even began

Alexander arrived at his office, the large glass windows reflecting the dark night outside, but the inside was anything but quiet. The IT department was bustling with activity, screens glowing as his team worked tirelessly. Despite the late hour, Alexander’s employees knew the gravity of the situation. Gerald’s influence, even from behind bars, was enough to keep everyone on edge. Now, with a suspicious man visiting him at the police station, the stakes had only risen.
