Alexander stood close to Sophia, looking at her as if seeing her for the first time again. The worry and stress from the past few days melted away. In that moment, nothing else mattered. His hand reached up, cupping her face gently. “I missed you,” he murmured softly before leaning in, capturing her lips in a deep, slow kiss.
Sophia responded with equal fervor, letting herself be swept up in the warmth of his embrace. It was like the world outside no longer existed, just the two of them. As Alexander deepened the kiss, she felt herself giving in completely, her body responding to every touch.
The kiss grew more intense as Alexander guided her toward the bed, not breaking the contact between them for a second. The sheets crinkled under their weight, and for a long time, they allowed themselves to forget everything—Gerald, the dangers, the world.
After some time, Alexander rose, pulling her with him toward the bathroom. The warm water of the bathtub was inviting, and they both sank into it together. Alexander’s hands gently moved across her body, and she turned in his embrace, their closeness reigniting their passion. They shared another heated kiss, enjoying the privacy of the moment.
Back in the bedroom, their passion continued late into the night. The connection between them was intense, the chemistry undeniable. Every movement, every caress, brought them closer, sealing the bond that they had built over time.

The next day, Alexander woke up early, with Sophia curled up next to him. It was the weekend, and after the intensity of the previous day, he had planned a special visit for them—to his family’s residence. He knew this would be a significant moment for Sophia, as she would be meeting more members of his family for the first time.
As Sophia stirred awake, she turned to face Alexander. “Good morning,” she whispered softly.
“Morning, love,” he replied, brushing a hand over her hair. “How do you feel about meeting my family today? It’s the weekend, and I thought it’d be nice to visit the Evans’ residence.”
Sophia’s eyes widened slightly. “Meeting your family? Oh gosh, Alex, I’m a little nervous. I’ve only met Gerald before…”
Alexander chuckled softly. “Don’t worry. They’ll love you. Grandma Evelyn’s been eager to meet you ever since I mentioned you. And don’t worry about my father; he trusts my decisions. My stepmother, Helena, can be…a bit opinionated, but nothing you can’t handle.”
Sophia bit her lip nervously, but Alexander’s calming presence helped her relax. He kissed her forehead. “We’ll be fine. You’ve already won me over, and they’ll see what I see in you.”
---
Later that afternoon, they arrived at the Evans’ residence. The grand estate loomed in front of them, but as they approached, Sophia felt a little reassured by Alexander’s firm grip on her hand.
As they entered the residence, they were greeted by Evelyn Evans, Alexander’s grandmother. She was warm and welcoming, pulling Sophia into a gentle embrace. “My dear, you’re even more beautiful than Alex described,” Evelyn said kindly. “Welcome to the family.”
Sophia smiled gratefully. “Thank you so much. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
Helena Jackson, Alexander’s stepmother, stood to the side, watching with a careful, somewhat skeptical eye. While she didn’t voice any objections, her demeanor was noticeably cool. “Sophia, isn’t it?” she asked, stepping forward with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Alexander speaks highly of you. I suppose we’ll see if you live up to his praises.”
Before Sophia could respond, Evelyn shot a sharp look at Helena. “Helena, that’s enough,” she said firmly. “Sophia is a guest in our home, and Alexander has chosen her. That’s all that matters.”
Helena, clearly uncomfortable under Evelyn’s reproach, backed down, nodding slightly. “Of course, mother,” she muttered.
Thomas Evans, Alexander’s father, seemed indifferent to the exchange. He stepped forward and extended a hand to Sophia, his expression neutral but not unkind. “If my son has chosen you, then I trust his judgment,” he said simply. “Welcome to the family.”
Sophia breathed a small sigh of relief. Despite Helena’s icy reception, the rest of the family seemed warm and accepting. But the person who made her feel most welcome was Alexander’s half-brother, David. The young man grinned widely as he approached her. “Hey! So this is my sister-in-law,” he teased, flashing a friendly smile.
Sophia smiled at him, feeling at ease with his playful demeanor. “Yep, I guess that’s me,” she replied with a small laugh.
David’s eyes gleamed mischievously. “Well, sis, let’s see how well you fit in. Do you play games? Because I don’t go easy on family when it comes to video games.”
Sophia chuckled, feeling her competitive side spark. “Oh, I can handle myself. What do you have in mind?”
David raised an eyebrow, clearly not expecting her to bite the bait. “Really? Well, how about we see if you can last in a round of *Battle Royale*? I promise not to cry if you lose.”
Sophia grinned, standing up with a newfound confidence. “Deal. Let’s see if you’re as good as you say.”
They made their way to David’s gaming setup in the living room, with Alexander watching from the side, amusement evident in his eyes. David handed her a controller, clearly expecting to dominate the match. But as the game began, Sophia surprised him with her swift reflexes and tactical gameplay.
“What…what the heck?” David mumbled, eyes wide as Sophia held her ground, landing shot after shot. “You’re really good at this!”
Sophia smirked, not taking her eyes off the screen. “Told you I could handle myself.”
The match was intense, but by the end of it, Sophia had managed to defeat David, leaving him in awe. He sat back in his chair, a look of disbelief on his face. “No way. You beat me. I didn’t see that coming!”
Alexander chuckled, stepping forward to stand behind Sophia. “I told you, David, don’t underestimate her.”
David looked between the two of them, his grin returning. “Okay, you’re cool, sis. We’re going to get along just fine. Maybe next time, I’ll ask for a rematch.”
Sophia laughed, feeling more at home with the family. “Anytime.”
With his interest piqued, David leaned forward, clearly curious now. “So, how long have you been gaming? You didn’t tell me you had skills like that!”
Sophia shrugged, a smile tugging at her lips. “A while, I guess. I don’t get to play as much as I used to, but I still love it.”
David’s eyes lit up. “That’s awesome! Maybe you can help me convince Alex to let me design my own game. I’ve been trying to get out of studying business and finance for ages.”
At that, Alexander intervened with a mock-stern look. “David, we’ve talked about this. Finish your studies first.”
David groaned dramatically, but the playful glint in his eyes remained. “I know, I know. But at least I have someone on my side now!”
Sophia smiled, feeling a sense of camaraderie building between her and David. Despite his playful nature, she could tell that he cared deeply about his family, just like Alexander did.
---
The rest of the visit went smoothly. As the day drew to a close, Sophia felt more secure in her relationship with Alexander, knowing that his family—despite their quirks—was slowly warming up to her. Even David’s playful antics and Helena’s cold demeanor couldn’t shake the bond she shared with Alexander.
As they left the residence hand in hand, Alexander squeezed her hand gently, a knowing smile on his face. “See? It wasn’t that bad, was it?”
Sophia smiled up at him, her heart full. “No, it wasn’t. I think…I think I’m starting to feel like I belong.”
