Chapter Four - Malfoy Manor

IT WAS AGREED that they would move within the week; Nova had gone to the station and said her goodbyes to Charlie promising to call whenever she could. Carlisle had quit his job at the hospital, claiming they were moving to London - so Nova could be closer to her family. The house was packed up, the future was in storage and they were only taking the essentials; luckily Nova had charmed her bags so she and Alice could take all their clothes. Carlisle had chartered a private jet from Port Angels to London that evening. All that was left was for Edward to say goodbye to Bella. Nova had told him that if he wanted to leave her then he had to be the one to finish things with the human. None of the family members would do it for him. After meeting Edward at the Airport the Cullens and Nova boarded their private jet and began their flight to London. 

It had taken almost ten hours and Nova had slept for most of it. She had woken just before they landed in the city, she had changed from comfy sleep pants and Carlisle's grey tee to a form-fitting white dress, a long black coat and her charmed heels. She also allowed Rosalie to curl her hair into soft waves. She didn't add makeup but she didn't need to. They had hurried through security and then on to their hired cars. Carlisle, Nova and Edward took one while Jasper - who was the only other person with a valid UK Driving license took the other with Rosalie, Emmett, and Alice. Nova drove the first car, with Jasper following closely behind.

"I still can't believe you Edward" Nova commented as she looked at the rearview. Edward was staring outside the window, the rain lashing against the windows - it made him look like he was in a sad music video. "Fancy leaving her in the woods like that"

"She didn't follow" Edward mumbled, loud enough for her to hear it. His eyes didn't move from the window as he spoke. 

"She couldn't" Nova muttered Carlisle sighed before taking Nova's hand it rested on the gearbox, not that she needed to use it as the cars were automatic. She looked at the hand briefly before pulling it away and using it to steady the steering, she cleared her throat. "So I'm not sure what state the house is going to be in - it has been a while since anyone had lived there" She admitted and Carlisle nodded. 

"Rosalie said it doesn't matter..we can clean it up"  Nova didn't say anything as she briefly looked at the other car nodding as she caught Rosalie's eye in the passenger side. The drive was long, they had stopped only once for Nova to rest and Carlisle (illegally) took over the driving. When Nova woke several hours later the city lights had gone and were replaced with the rolling countryside and Carlisle pulled over for Nov to take over the last leg of the journey. The witch barely spoke as she drove. They drove through several large towns, before going through several small villages. Malfoy Manor was located in Wiltshire, and Carlisle realised how much money she truly came from when the houses began getting farther away and larger and larger as time passed. 

Turning down a hidden road, they saw that Nova had essentially pulled to a stop on an empty road. She sighed and she got out and they watched as she raised her arm and a pair of large iron gates appeared out of nowhere. She then opened the gates and hurried back into the car. 

"Non-Magicals can see the house" She explained to them as she restarted the engine and pulled down the long driveway. Nova was surprised to see that the hedges were neatly trimmed as usual, the fountains scrubbed until they sparkled and the lawn cut to perfection. It was like she hadn't left. "huh" She called out as they pulled to a stop outside the 'house' Of course Carlisle could snort at the word 'house' for this was a very large manor - it was bigger than the Cullen home. 

"what is it?" Alice asked as she bounced from the other car to Nova's side. 

"I was expecting it to be -you know- abandoned" Nova commented. "Draco and I are the only ones to have access to it"
