Travis woke to the sound of clattering downstairs. He squinted at the light coming in through the crack in the door. He rubbed his eyes, sitting up once noticing Taylor wasn't next to him.

He pulled on a tshirt and made his way downstairs, smiling at the sound of Taylor singing in the kitchen. He stood in the doorway, watching her as she stood at the stove, singing along to something playing on the speaker. She had one of Travis's t-shirts on which reached about mid thigh, revealing the rest of her long legs.

"You can dance, you can jive! Having the time of your life, ooohh..." She sang along as she stirred something in a bowl. Travis smiled, so in love. Suddenly she turned around, sensing someone at the door.
"Travis!" She squealed, setting the spoon down and running over to him. She threw her arms around his neck, standing on her tiptoes as she pressed her lips to his. He rested his hands on her hips, kissing her back.

"Happy Birthday!" She exclaimed, pulling away. "I made you pancakes!" She grabbed a plate from the stove with pancakes stacked up, his favourite toppings on them.
"Thank you baby" Travis smiled, taking the plate and sitting down. Taylor got her own and sat down opposite him, cutting into them.
"These are amazing baby! Thank you" Travis hummed after he took a big mouthful. Taylor grinned back at him, her mouth full.

"So, I know you have practice, but I have a present for you" Taylor smiled shyly across the table at him, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Aw baby, you didn't have to" Travis reached out and took her hand, squeezing it tightly. "I leave in about half an hour, and get back at 5" Taylor nodded.
"So, we can do it after?" She asked.
"Yep" Travis confirmed.

"Bye baby, I love you" Taylor gave him one last squeeze before he opened the door.
"I love you more" he grinned, and Taylor blushed before he left.

It was just past 5 and Taylor had everything ready; her guitar, the card and the CD wrapped up in Christmas paper (the only one she could find). Her hands were shaking with nerves and excitement as she made her way downstairs, opening the door for Travis.

He dropped his stuff on the floor, wrapping his arms around her and picking her up. He spun her round until she was giddy, giggling as he put her down.
"How was your day?" She asked, taking his coat.
"It was good, but better now that I'm with you" he smiled, leaning in and pecking her on the lips. "I missed you"
"I missed you too" Taylor grinned, but pushed him away as he went in for a deeper kiss.
"Nuh uh, first your birthday present" she grabbed his hand, pulling him up the stairs and into their bedroom.

She sat down on the bed, basically vibrating with nerves and excitement as Travis went to change. He sat next to her and she turned to face him, handing him the wrapped CD.
"Nice paper" he laughed, and Taylor smirked.

He opened it slowly, sliding out a plastic CD case. The case was clear with a CD inside, plain white with something written on it in Taylors writing.

Trav,
Happy birthday!
I love you, love
Taylor x

Next to it was a little love heart with a T in the middle.
"Its my new album. I haven't announced it yet, and I'm not sure what it's called but it's mostly about you and I thought you might want to hear it first?" Taylor was fidgeting with her hands nervously as she tried to gauge Travis's reaction.
"You wrote more songs about me?" Travis asked, his voice thick with emotion.
"Yeah... Is that okay? It's just that you're a massive part of my life now and I love you and-"
"Of course it's okay baby" Travis leaned in for a kiss, placing a hand on her knee.
"Can I listen now?" He asked excitedly.
"Um, I was actually going to play a couple on my guitar for you? If that's okay?" She asked nervously, but so excited.
"I get a live performance?! Amazing" Travis grinned as Taylor picked up her guitar.

"Okay so" Taylor cleared her throat as she positioned her hands. "It's not going to be perfect, but... Yeah, this ones called So High School"

Travis leaned forward on the bed as she started strumming, the first note steady and beautiful.

Taylor strummed the last note and the room descended into silence, as Taylor looked up nervously to see if he liked it.
"That was... Oh my god" Travis breathed out, swallowing the lump in his throat. That was the most beautiful thing anyone had ever done for him. "That was amazing"
Taylor blushed, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
"This next one is called The Alchemy"

As she started singing the nerves she had prior had vanished. The song was a perfect mix of notes, blended together to make the most beautiful melody.

"Did you like them?" She asked, once she had finished.
"Did I like them? Oh my god Taylor, that was..." He wiped away a tear that had made its way down his cheek. "That was beautiful Tay, you are so so talented. Oh my god" Taylor smiled shyly, her face a light shade of red.
"We can listen to the rest on the CD if you want?" She asked, and Travis nodded eagerly. She put the CD in the player and pressed play, climbing into Travis's lap as the first beats of the album echoed throughout the room.
