At the dawn of time, planet Earth was not just home to humans and the animals we know today. It was a vibrant world inhabited by mystical beings of infinite wisdom and extraordinary gifts. Fairies, elves, giants, mermaids, and dragons were some of the creatures that walked among us.

However, among all the inhabitants, humans were considered the most special. Endowed with a unique spark, they lived in harmony with magical creatures and animals, in a delicate and perfect balance.

Yet, this era of peace was shaken when humans were expelled from the Garden of Eden, and from being special beings, they became ordinary ones.

And then they saw their mystical companions continue to shine with their immortal gifts, which caused envy to grow in their hearts, fueled by the longing for what they once were.

It was then that the darkness, personified in a shadowy and seductive figure, found the humans in their silent despair. And with promises of power and knowledge, the darkness offered a deal: in exchange for help in the search for a lost artifact, it would grant humans abilities beyond their imagination.

Seduced by the promise of regaining their glory, many humans accepted this proposal.

Thus, the darkness infiltrated their souls, transforming them into tormented creatures such as vampires, werewolves, ogres, witches, and other dark beings, like creatures of murky waters and stormy skies.

And with their new forms, they began to hunt the mystical beings and the humans who refused to accept the darkness within themselves.

These evil beings spread chaos and destruction across the Earth.

Faced with such a threat, four powerful lords and ladies rose in defense of the innocent beings who were dying in the name of darkness.

These lords then united their forces to create a new secret and protected dimension called Mysteria. A hidden refuge in the folds of time and space where the primordial mystical beings could live in peace.

One of these lords, the lord of the winds, sent his messengers of hope, the seven winds, as they are called, who carried the news to the four corners, inviting all mystical beings to inhabit this new land of promises.

Attracted by the chance to escape the devastation, many mystical beings left the known Earth, crossing the only entrance to Mysteria, a gate that changed location once a year, not only as a form of defense but also to allow more mobility among the new inhabitants, who at times could not cross from one continent to another.

And although the path was congested, determination and magic cleared the way for those who longed for peace.

And after 10 years of the creation of Mysteria, one of the powerful lords, master of the earth, dragged the dark creatures into the new dimension, sealing them within impassable mountains, haunted forests, and unfathomable caves created in Mysteria for this purpose.

Soon after, the lady of fire closed the portal to Mysteria, and the lord of waters, in a gesture of purification, unleashed a flood upon the Earth. The waters swept away the corruption, taking with it almost all of humanity and other evil beings that were still present.

Thus, Mysteria became a sanctuary, a bastion of light amidst the shadows of the past, where hope flourished once again.

The darkness, deeply resentful of its defeat, felt betrayed and humiliated, especially for not having found the artifact it so desperately sought.

And when it attempted to cross into the new dimension, Mysteria, it was stopped by the gate itself, now engulfed in blazing fire, intense and surrounding the entire entrance. This fire, fueled by the power of the lady of fire, was so powerful it could consume even the most formidable creature on Earth.

Unable to proceed with its ambition, the darkness retreated into itself, hiding in deep shadows and waiting for the moment of its revenge.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the flaming barrier, the four powerful lords established a new government. Mysteria was now a refuge where each mystical being could live in harmony with its natural environment.

Dragons found homes in active volcanoes, their scales gleaming under the incandescent heat. Fairies and elves inhabited enchanted forests where light danced between the leaves. Mermaids swam in crystal-clear seas, while giants roamed vast plains adapted to their colossal size.

The dark beings, however, were confined to environments that reflected their cursed nature.

Vampires were trapped in a cursed forest where sunlight never penetrated, as any exposure would turn them to dust. Ogres dwelled in deep caves, far from the sun's rays. Werewolves were placed on distant mountains, where the full moon provoked their fierce instability. Witches, isolated in remote valleys, bore the curse of infertility, incapable of perpetuating their lineage, not to mention many other evil creatures that drowned during the flood that occurred on Earth.

With order restored, some of the lords decided to remain in Mysteria, watching over the newly acquired peace. Others, however, returned to Earth to observe from afar and ensure that balance was maintained.

The flood that devastated Earth erased almost all traces of mystical creatures, the evil ones, and many other beings and animals that lived freely on the old Earth.

But despite everything that had happened, some lucky ones among the supernatural beings managed to survive and began to become legends, haunting humans and occasionally satisfying their desires through dark deeds or helping them from afar.

And so, while the other dimension Mysteria flourished as a sanctuary of tranquility and rebirth, Earth rose again as a world now natural, while the darkness waited patiently within it, planning to one day reclaim the lost power and plunge the world once more into darkness.

Author's notes:

Hello readers,

I am writing this book of tales based on the stories that Nereu's nanny, Dóris, told him when he was still a child under her care.

Although I have not highlighted the storytelling itself in the original book, 'The Elementals: Incarnations,' I am doing so here. The book is not yet available in English, but it will be soon.

Each chapter will be a different tale, possibly containing only narration or also including dialogue between characters.

Regarding the number of chapters, I think it will be fewer than 10.

This was just for this chapter, I wish you all a good read.

You've reached the end of published parts.
