The baker watched the chaos around them. Whose idea was it to host a birthday party at their house?! It wasn't even their kid!
"They watched as Braken played with the kids. Nova jumping around and messing with some kids shoes.
A car drove by followed by a window rolling down and Erin's confused face looking out at them.
"...what did you do?" they asked, trying to get into their parking spot without hitting the kids. "I thought we said Braken, Nova, maybe one more and that was it... did you just buy an orphanage or something?!" they said getting out and walking up to their husband.
"Well-."
"And I know I am not the person to day this but why do they all look happy? I would be pressed if I was an orphan... and Merikh wasn't a jerk." they said sitting down.
"It's one of Brakens friends birthday and the place they were going to go was closed due to some fire and apparently i was the only one available." he shrugged. "Speaking of which, I have to work soon. I should get ready." they smiled as they watched the horror appear on Erin's face.
"You're just going to leave me with all of these children?!" they asked following Cobalt as they walked inside.
"No, of course not. You may have to take care of three or four of them by the time I leave, they should all be going home soon."
"Oh thank pandora above." they sighed sitting down.
"So how was work? He asked, walking into the kitchen and pulling a sandwich out.
"...we're moving."
"What-"
"Everyone is... i don't know the details yet but they are talking about getting a bigger ship for something. I know earth has its problems but I don't understand why we are acting on it so suddenly!" they sighed, grabbing the food their boyfriend offered them.
"Hey, I'm sure it's fine. I don't think that you need to worry... and besides they're going to ask for your opinion on just about everything. They know you have the most experience in space travel. How many times did you get promoted in your first year?" Erin looked up and sighed.
"Still I just got here! We just started to settle in.. we have Nova now!" they protested.
"And we can settle again. We will still have Nova, we will still have Braken, you will still have a job and if anything you're going to get promoted again. And besides who wants to live in America anyway it smells here. We can find somewhere we can properly live like... what was it ismene?"
"You're saying there going to find out that I literally own Earth and say here you go it's your problem now." they smiled as the two walked back outside.
"Noooo... I'm just saying that they will find you're an amazing ruler and say let's let this guy be incharge." They smiled.
"Cobalt?"
"Yeah?"
"You're such a liar." They laughed.
