'FLOOM! I hit the water. And then I died. The end.'
"What?!?!?" I shouted. "You can't just say that!" I yelled at the book. Before I could finish scolding the book and start the next chapter, my phone rings. I answer it.
"Hello?"
"Hey Silver, it's Shadow. Are you free right now? I'm bored."
"Oh. Um." I look at the book. "I was just reading a book. What were you wanting to do?"
"Take a walk. Try not to break Sonic's nose again. You know the usual."
"Oh. What did he do this time?"
"He ate my sandwich"
"Ok, did you-"
"So I punched him in the face and almost shot his head off. But I didn't!"
"You punched Sonic in the face." I echoed to make sure I heard him right.
"Yep! And I didn't shoot his face off. So. That proves that I can control myself!"
"Ugh. I'll be there in a minute" I groan. Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard was going to have to wait. After I hang up. I scowl at the book, "Don't think that you're off the hook just cause Shadow is having stress issues!" I informed it.
When I arrived at Shadow's house I started feeling a little lightheaded and dizzy. I knock on Shadow's door.
"Coming, hold on." Shadow says from somewhere inside. Then I hear a loud crash.
"Are you ok?" I ask cautiously. The door opens.
"Perfectly fine, '' Shadow says calmly. Standing in the door.
"Um. you have a little..." I say pointing at my own head to show there was something up with his.
"Huh?" He reaches up and touches his head. "What?" he asks.
"You have an ax. In your head. Here just let me..." I reach over, grab the handle and pull it out. Then I toss it around him into his house.
"You want me to...?" I reach my hand up to the open wound that was now bleeding.
"Nah. I'll be fine." He said waving me away.
"Ok... You sure?" I asked uncertainly. My head had started pounding and it was taking all my effort to not rub my head. If Shadow knew that I had a migraine, which is what my headache has turned into. He would think there was something wrong with me. There's nothing wrong. Or at least I don't think there's anything wrong.
"Yes, Silver," he says, looking annoyed. He even rolled his eyes at me!
"Ok. I just don't think that you should walk around with a big slash in your head." I say.
"Well, they can kiss my a– butt. They can kiss my butt." He retaliates. Well. at least he didn't swear right there, right? I think to myself. I give him a reluctant thumbs up. He tilts his head at me worried. It must have been the hesitation, I fret.
"Come on in," he says, motioning for me to come inside. I go to take a step and suddenly, the whole world lurches. I blink and I'm lying on Shadow's porch, on my face.
"Silver!?!? Are you ok? What happened?" Shadow asks, sounding rather panicked.
"Ow...." Was all I managed to say.
"Silver?" Shadow asks again.
"I think..." I say carefully as I start getting up, "I think I tripped on your step"
