Meeting the Masked Man

"Don't forget Maxis you are a good child don't let anyone take your light away." That was the last thing my father said to me before something took him from me. He was taken from me just like the rest of my clan and I was found by adults holding his corpse. I remember they tried to grab me but something came out of my shadow and hurt them. It scared me and I remember my eyes hurting before the thing was gone. I passed out pleading for my dad to come back and I woke up in a hospital bed. "What do you think we should do with him? You saw that thing come out of his shadow and kill four of our squad." I open my eyes to stare at the adults. I see one was an old man who was wearing a hat that said Third Hokage on it. They didn't notice me awake and kept talking. "Let's let him sleep and we'll talk to him tomorrow." I was alone and I sat up only to look out the window. "I know your out there I can smell your anger." I watched as a masked face looked into my window. "What an interesting trait. Tell me Maxis do you want revenge on the one who took your father?" I sniffle thinking of dad. I watched as two pale white arms reach out of my shadow and I watch it cover me. "So you do have your clan's Kekkei Genkai." I look at the man confused. "If you come with me I can teach you how to use that power as well as help you learn to stand on your own two feet. When the time comes I'll help you kill the one who took your family." I grab his extended hand and I watch the arms return to my shadow. "I'm known as Tobi. I belong to a group who seek to bring the world true peace." I follow him to his hideout and I begin my new life. I learned a lot during my time as a member of Tobi's Akatsuki. I mastered most of the basic things of my clan. I also learned I have four chakra releases. I have fire, wind, lightning, and wind release which was crazy. So I also learned a lot of ninjustu for each release I have. I managed to learn that those arms that come out of my shadow is a creature that made a contract with my clan and I'm it's current host. It also has a family I can use but I don't know their names yet. I got close to a former Leaf Shinobi named Itachi. Thanks to my Kekkei I can tell he harbors extreme pain and guilt. I figured it out by talking to him and Tobi. He killed his clan to prevent a civil war in the Leaf. Itachi also left his younger brother alive and lied to him about that night. Itachi has helped me a lot in controlling the monster. "Maxis it's time you receive your first mission." I look at Tobi who was looking at my hands. I was holding a dead animal I found. I was burying it outside the hideout. After I finished I went to Tobi and he explained I'm being sent to the Leaf. My goal is to report on the jinchuriki there as well as keep tabs on the village. I was taught by all of the Akatsuki how to not only survive but to thrive. I've killed a lot of people and sometimes I hear their voices. But I think that's a good sign cause I think that means I still have a conscious. "How will I get pass the gate?" Tobi chuckled and hands me some clothes. "I have that taken care of you just ensure your at the gate." I nod and Pain has Itachi bring me. I got my stuff and when I looked in my pouch I saw a black scroll with a golden skull keeping it closed. That scroll is the only thing I had been given by my dad before he died. I haven't opened it nor do I plan to. I sealed away my stuff and I followed Itachi to the Leaf. "I need you to do me a favor as well Maxis. Help my brother grow you are stronger then most Jonin in this village. Use that strength to help him please." I look at Itachi before nodding. "This is goodbye for now." I watched him go before going up to the gate. I pulled an envelope from my pouch and handed it to the Chunin. The envelope explained my situation and would convince the Hokage to let me live here. The two adults had me follow them to the Hokage and when we arrive I see it's the old man from before. I see the old man look at me and in his eyes I see he remembered me. "You can go now." The two Chunin leave and the man looked at me. "You've come back." I see him look at the letter then back at me. "So your wanting to live here. From what I remember you had a peculiar Kekkei." I nod softly. "I've learned how to control it so it won't hurt people again. I'm sorry my friend killed those people he was just trying to protect me." The old man must've not expected me to talk cause he looked surprised when I did. "You weren't in control back then?" I shake my head. "No back then I had hardly learned what those arms belonged to when my clan was killed by something. I vaguely remember your men he killed. I left that night because I thought you'd have me killed." The old man looked at me. "Why did you come back then?" I flinch and I noticed the man looked concerned. "Because I wanted to atone for what happened. Even if it means I die to do it." The Hokage was surprised by that. "Well you aren't going to have to worry about that. I'll set you up with an apartment and give you a bit of money. But you'll have to work to live here." I nod before being handed a piece of paper he wrote on. He then hands me a key and I see him nod. "Go give that to the Anbu who's waiting outside and he'll bring you to your new home. Welcome to the Leaf Village. I'm Hiruzen Sarutobi." I nod again. "I'm Maxis Sophir." I noticed a split second of alarm when I said my last name but Hiruzen quickly covered it with a smile. I found the Anbu Hiruzen told me about and after I hand him the paper the man had me follow him. I see how busy the Leaf is and it surprised me. My clan was never this noisy or busy. "Here you are kid." I smile at the Anbu and thank him before opening the door to my new apartment. I quickly close it behind me before I lock it then covered all of the windows. "You finally safe kid?" I nod and I watch as my shadow grew to cover the entire floor before something began to emerge from it. The face looked like a reptiles except for the six eyes and four tusks sticking out of its maw. "Thank you for not hurting anyone on the way here Drog." The reptiles snorts. "You weren't in danger and everyone around you were not wanting to harm you. Are you sure this is wise? The Hokage knew your last name." I nod a little. "My father would want me to here. I've read his letters. He trusted the Leaf back in the day." Drog snorts softly but leaves.
