He looked up from the files, his strained fingers aching. A deep sigh escaped his lips as he saw the time. He was in the office since morning, getting all the paperwork ready for the deal.

The client was really fussy and he couldn't give them any chance to back out. His staff had always been hard working and responsible but he had given them strict warning this time. Every thing needed to be as per the requirements.

This was his only chance and he couldn't take the risk to mess it up. His dad had entrusted him with such an important task. He took one final look at the files before grabbing the car keys.

He reached home some time later, ready to slump in the moment he stepped in. But taking a shower was must. So he dragged himself to the bathroom, letting warm water flow over his body. He was exhausted to death and all he could think was being in bed.

Though he was really nervous about the meeting next day, his body wasn't in much state to think further. Sleep took over as soon as he made himself comfortable in soft sheets.

NEXT MORNING :

Golden sunrays filled the room with light, making him toss around. He opened his eyes unwillingly, sleep still lingering. He woke up and got ready quickly, making sure he had enough time to reach office.

He picked the suit his dad had bought him some time ago. Looking in the mirror, he wondered what life was going to be like ahead. Of course this deal was going to be a game changer for MIRAE HOTELS but his personal life was nowhere to be found.

He had been so lost in his work that he never ever thought of doing something for himself. So many times his friends called him for parties or just hanging out together but he always skipped saying he had work.

Lost in thoughts, he got ready. He skipped breakfast, his stomach already doing flip flops because of nervousness.

Seungcheol reached the company, ready for the meeting which was going to be the deciding factor for his company's progress. Technically it was his dad's company but he was responsible for a whole lot of it.

MIRAE HOTELS was the one of the most prestigious chains of hotels in South Korea and Seungcheol's future plans included to make his company an international brand.

Meeting started with the discussion of all the profits his clients would be receiving if they sign the deal. The most difficult part was to convince them with numbers. And though his company had impressive data to prove its worth, conditions set for the deal were a hindrance.

He somehow treaded the path, making sure all his conditions were met with favorable negotiations.

By the end of the meeting, he had a proud smile on his face. He told his secretary that he will be back in some time and took off for his parents' home. He lived away from them and he had his reasons for the same.

Living with parents at an age where you have your own opinions is not easy so he had moved out. He reached the home to find his mom in the kitchen while his dad was nowhere to be seen. He called his parents as his dad came down the stairs.

"Dad, mom, I got the deal" he said excitedly as his mom hugged him tightly. "Good job. I knew you can do it. I am proud of you" his dad said with a fond smile and he couldn't be happier. His dad was a typical Asian parent, not really expressive and always strict.

So words of appreciation from his dad were all he needed. "Thanks dad" he said with a gummy smile, not really able to control himself. "There is one last thing I want you to do" his dad said taking seat on the sofa.

"Yes dad, tell me" he said confidently, sitting in front of his dad. "I hope you won't say no" his dad said sternly, his tone a bit stiff. Seuncheol kept wondering what was it about but nodded nonetheless. If it was about another deal, then why his dad expected him to say no.

"I want you to marry the son of my old friend, Mr.Chwe" his dad announced, looking straight into his eyes.

"What ?" He stood up in shock. He didn't mean to shout but the absurdity of the situation forced him. He was falbbaergasted. Did he even hear his dad correctly ?

"You want me to do what ?" He asked again, hoping he had actually heard wrong. His parents stood up, his dad looking absolutely unbothered. "You heard me. I want you to get married to my friend's son" his dad repeated. His tone was as flat as bland food and Seungcheol couldn't decide what was worse.

"But why ? I don't want to" Seungcheol half shouted. He was unable to understand his dad. "I have already promised my friend" his dad said in a firm tone, implying he wasn't in the mood to negotiate.

"I don't care. Why didn't you ask me first ? I don't want to get married" he said urging every single word as if that would work on his dad. His tone was definitely harsh and words might have come across as rude too, but he had no choice.

"Meet him first. He is perfect for you" his dad said as matter of factly. "How do you know if he is perfect for me or not ? And besides, I do not want to marry anyone right now" he said seethingly. Was his life some kind of joke to his dad ?

"Cheolie, calm down. Meet him first and if you don't like the idea then we won't force you" his mom said, her tone sweet yet cautious as if he would blow anytime.

"But mom, I really don't want to get married. Not at least to someone I don't even know" he argued back. He was getting impatient each passing moment. "That's why we are asking you to meet him first. And then we will see" his dad said and left.

He just stood there, transfixed. He was shocked to core, unable to think straight. "Mom, please talk to dad" he almost pleaded now.

"Cheol, I did try. But he isn't ready to listen. Please for me, just go and meet him once. It's like going on a date and what's wrong with that, hm ?" His mom asked him smiling kindly.

He knew he had no other option so he just nodded and stormed off.

His hands were on the wheels but his mind was in turmoil. A storm was raging inside him, making him sick. How could his dad this to him ? His dad was strict no doubt, but he always let Cheol live his life his way.

He chose what he wanted to study and it was his decision to join his dad's business. And it was cherry on top that his choices aligned with his dad's expectations.

But what his dad did today was beyond his capacity.

It was his life for god sake. He had the right to choose his partner, the person he was going to spend his life with. It's fucking marriage they were talking about and not some deal that's worth his life.

He reached the office, his face red with how much he was frustrated. He told his secretary not to disturb him or let anyone in his cabin.
