Y/n's pov

It took a few days for me to fully heal, and now I’m feeling much better. I can finally walk again, though it’s still hard to believe how everything turned out. I never imagined I’d end up like this—changing the past and, as a result, altering my future. Not only do I have my parents back, but I also gained a little brother. It’s surreal.

“Y/N, let’s go,” my dad said, appearing at the door after loading the car. I nodded, got up, and made my way to the passenger seat.

Lisa had left for her shooting, so it was just me and my dad. He had come to the hospital to discharge me, but what surprised me most wasn’t just my recovery—it was learning that my parents run one of the top businesses in Korea. I had no idea they were so successful.

A few minutes later, we pulled up in front of the house. It was my first time seeing it, and despite their wealth, my parents lived in a modest, comfortable home—not too big, not too small.

I stepped out of the car and followed my dad inside. As I walked through the door, a strange feeling washed over me. It was as if I had seen this place before. Maybe it was a memory from when they first found me. I wasn’t sure, but I hoped my memories would come back eventually.

Once inside, I headed straight to my room and took a long shower. It had been months since I had the luxury of taking a fresh, hot shower. Back in the historical period, such facilities didn’t exist. I wasn’t complaining though—that’s how our ancestors lived. But the thought crossed my mind: What if Yeonjun and Soobin were actually my ancestors?

That would be something.

Whatever the case, I decided I would head to the museum tomorrow. I needed to see what had happened after I returned. But for now, it was already nighttime, and I was exhausted.

The next day, I woke up to the soft morning light filtering through my curtains. I blinked a few times, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings of my new room. The events of the past few days felt surreal, but the warmth of the blankets and the scent of breakfast wafting from the kitchen reminded me that this was real.

After taking a moment to gather my thoughts, I got out of bed and headed to the kitchen. My parents had prepared breakfast—a simple yet delicious spread of toast, eggs, and fresh fruit. As I ate, I felt a sense of belonging wash over me. I wasn’t an orphan anymore; I had a family, a home.

Once I finished eating, I grabbed my phone and sent a quick message to my parents, bidding them goodbye. “I’m heading out to the museum,” I typed. They replied with encouraging words, wishing me a good day. I felt a surge of gratitude; they were so supportive.

I hailed a taxi and gave the driver the address of the museum. The ride was short, but my excitement grew as we neared my destination. I paid the driver and stepped out onto the familiar pavement, my heart racing with anticipation. As I approached the entrance, I noticed the old photo of my parents and me in my wallet. A smile crept across my face—I’m no longer an orphan.

Entering the museum, I was immediately enveloped by a wave of nostalgia. Memories flooded back, and I instinctively made my way to the library section. It felt like a second home, a place where I had experienced so much. Once I reached the library, I scanned the shelves, searching for the same book I had read before. After a moment of searching, I finally found it: History of the Yuita Kingdom.

I pulled the book off the shelf, excitement bubbling within me. As I began to read, I was amazed to find that the story had changed dramatically. To my astonishment, I was mentioned in it! I felt a sense of pride and wonder wash over me.

As I continued reading, I reached the part of the book that detailed the war. However, I noticed that the writer had left out my involvement. It seemed as though I had resigned from my position and returned home. It struck me that the writer had no idea about me; they couldn’t possibly know what really happened to me i just disappeared after all, but i am sure the couple have idea about it.

Then came the section where yeonjun and soobin married and ruled the kingdom together, eventually passing away after fifty-five years in the same war. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of happiness for them—and for myself. This was proof that I had changed my own future for the better.

After finishing the book, I placed it back on the shelf, feeling a mix of emotions swirling within me. Just as I was about to leave the library, I heard someone call my name. I turned around to see the same staff member who had guided me here weeks ago.

“Ms. Seo,” she smiled as she walked toward me.

“Y/N, I’m glad to see you’re doing well now. Did you enjoy reading?” she asked.

I nodded enthusiastically. “Yes, I did!”

I’m glad to hear that,” she replied with a warm smile.

Thank you, and I’m going to head out now,” I said, turning to leave.

Y/N, you did well, just as I told you. I’m sure your future is blossoming just as you wanted, and you have a surprise waiting for you,” Ms. Seo said cryptically.

I paused, confusion washing over me. I looked back at her, and she smiled reassuringly, patting my shoulder before walking away.

Wait… how did she know I went back to the past and changed it? As I watched her retreating figure, I realized that she was the one who had sent me back in time. That thought left me with more questions than answers.

Stepping out of the museum, I continued to ponder what she had said. A surprise? What surprise could she possibly be talking about?

I began walking toward the bus stop, still preoccupied with Ms. Seo’s words. What surprise could she possibly be talking about? My mind replayed the events over and over, trying to make sense of everything that had happened since I returned.

As I walked, I passed a couple. At first, I didn’t pay them any attention, but something felt oddly familiar. I slowed my steps, my heart skipping a beat. Instinctively, I turned to look back, and to my surprise, the couple turned at the same time, locking eyes with me.

My breath caught in my throat, and without realizing it, the words slipped from my mouth.

Soobin… Yeonjun…”
