Lindsay's P.O.V.
I'm Lindsay Cavill... I'm 14 years old and yes; I'm the sister of Henry Cavill. But I'd rather just be known as just Lindsay, for the sake of this story. I'm tired of being judged for who I'm related to. "Lindsay Cavill? Oh my god! You're Superman's sister!" Talk about feeling like you're living in someone's shadow.
Henry and I talk occasionally... If occasionally means I haven't talked to him in a year. I live with my mother on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands. She's gone right now; on a trip to Puerto Rico. She's always running off somewhere. My mom left for Puerto Rico this morning before I woke up. Who knows how long she'll be gone? She's not even considerate enough to tell me good bye, let alone tell me how long she'll be gone.
I slowly get out of bed and head to the bathroom. I brush my long and rippled auburn hair leave it down. Then I walk downstairs to make a pot of coffee. I'm greeted by my golden doodle, Willow when I get to the bottom of the stairs.
"Hey girly." I say as I scratch her head. I walk to the kitchen and Willow follows me with her tail wagging.
"Hungry?" I ask Willow as she watches intently as I put the kibble bowl down and pour water into the opposing bowl.I walk to the coffee maker but instead of starting it up, I pick up a note taped to the coffee machine.
It reads:
"Dear Lindsay,
I've left for Puerto Rico, as you know. But, it is with great regret and sorrow that I inform you I am eloping with my new boyfriend Pablo. I've been finding real passion with Pablo. He is so handsome but I knew you wouldn't approve of him because of his belly button peircing, bejeweled leggings, and because he is so much older than me. Pablo owns a trailer in the woods and he has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it ourselves and trading it with the wonderful people of the black market for all the cocaine and ecstasy our hearts desire. In the meantime we'll pray to the Norse gods that they find a cure for herpes, so that Pablo gets better. I don't want you to worry about us. We'll be fine!
See you never!
Mom"I'm paralyzed from shocked for a moment and then I hurry to the phone. I dial my best friend Bella's phone number frantically.
Bella: Hello?
Lindsay: Hey... Do you mind coming over as soon as you can?
B: Yeah sure. I was actually getting ready to come over and bring some of my homemade maple syrup. What's wrong?
L: Nothing, I'll tell you when you get here."
B: Alright, see ya in a bit.Soon after the call is over there's a knock at the door.
I open up the door and Bella steps in with a bottle of maple syrup."Hey girly." She says hugging me.
"Hey." I say solemly.
"What's up?" Bella asks.
"I'm not sure." I reply. "Follow me."We walk through the corridor and arrive into the kitchen. I spot the letter lying just where I left it; on the counter, next to the coffee pot.
I hand the letter to Bella. She looks at me with a puzzled expression for a moment and then she begins reading the letter. When she finishes reading she sets the letter down. We're both quiet for a moment.
"What- Wh- What does she mean?" Bella stutters.
I shake my head not quite sure what to say.
"She's not... Coming back?" She asks.
I shake my head again.
"Oh my god." Bella says as she plops down on a kitchen chair.
"I don't know what to do." I say running my fingers through my hair.
"Let me think." She says. Bella is silent for several minutes."How's Henry these days?" She finally asks.
"What?" I raise my eyebrow-
"You're kidding!"
"No! I'm not! When's the last time you talked to him?" Bella asks.
"It's been a year." I reply.
"Last December!" she shouts, "That's not that long ago!"
"Yes it is." I reply.
"Look, it's either you can call him, or I will." Bella retorts.
"Listen, you know I don't like Henry. He hates me and my mother. He's a terrible person." I say.
"Who told you he was a terrible person?" Bella questions.
"My mother." I counter.
"Exactly! She just left you... And he's the terrible one?" Utters Bella.
"Alright, I see your point. I'll call him this afternoon." I mutter reluctantly.
