Sophia smiled, brushing off her friend’s teasing. “I promise, it’s nothing like that. He’s just being nice.”

Emily leaned in closer, her voice lowering conspiratorially. “Well, if he’s not interested in you, he sure has a funny way of showing it. The way he looks at you... I wouldn’t be surprised if he showed up again soon.”

Sophia laughed, though deep down, she couldn’t deny that Larry’s interest seemed a little more than professional. But for now, she pushed the thought aside and returned to her work, trying to focus on what she loved doing.

Back at Valmere later that evening, as she and Alexander shared dinner, Sophia mentioned the day’s events. “You remember that guy who dropped me off at my old apartment the other day?”

Alexander looked up, a slight frown crossing his face. “Yes, why?”

“He came to Allure today,” Sophia explained. “Apparently, he needed a suit designed, and it was all very… coincidental.”

Alexander’s expression darkened just a fraction, though he kept his tone light. “Larry, was it?”

Sophia nodded. “Yes, that’s the one. He seems harmless, but I thought it was strange how he showed up like that.”

Alexander didn’t say much more, but as they finished dinner, he made a mental note. This Larry character has his attention now. And if there was one thing Alexander didn’t like, it was coincidences.

The sun had just begun to rise over the serene landscape surrounding Valmere, casting a soft golden glow through the windows as Alexander and Sophia sat at the breakfast table. The peaceful morning was accompanied by the quiet clinking of silverware as they ate, yet there was an underlying tension in the air. Alexander’s mind had been occupied since the previous day, and today he was ready to address his concerns.

He set down his cup of coffee and glanced at Sophia, who was scrolling through her phone absentmindedly. Clearing his throat, Alexander spoke, his voice calm but with an edge of seriousness. “Sweetheart, I think you should be careful around this Larry guy.”

Sophia’s attention shifted from her phone to her husband, her brow furrowing in confusion. “Larry? Why? He’s harmless, honey. I told you, he’s just a client.”

Alexander’s gaze didn’t waver. “I know, but something about him doesn’t sit right with me. He’s new in the city, and he doesn’t seem to have many friends. Yet, he keeps showing up at your workplace. That’s a bit too convenient, don’t you think?”

Sophia gave a small laugh, waving off his concern. “Sweetheart, Allure is one of the top fashion houses in the city. It makes sense for someone like Larry to come there. He probably wants the best suit for whatever event he’s attending.”

As she explained, she noticed Alexander’s expression darken slightly, his usually calm demeanor shifting. His jaw clenched almost imperceptibly, and his eyes narrowed, though he said nothing. Sophia couldn’t help but stifle a laugh, her lips curving into a teasing smile. “Wait… don’t tell me you’re jealous of Larry?”

Alexander’s eyes widened, clearly caught off guard by her playful accusation. For a moment, he felt a surge of amusement at how naive and sweet his wife was. He knew she didn’t see Larry as a threat—after all, she trusted Alexander completely, just as he trusted her. But the way she framed the situation was almost too innocent.

He quickly hid his amusement and let out a small sigh, pretending to be a little irritated. “Maybe I am. Who wouldn’t be jealous when their beautiful wife is getting close to other men?”

Sophia was taken aback for a split second, then let out a peal of laughter. The idea of Alexander being jealous over someone like Larry was both amusing and heartwarming. She shook her head and gave him a soft smile, clearly enjoying this side of him. “Honey, you’ve got nothing to worry about. Larry is just a client, and besides, you know I only have eyes for you.”
