TODAY MARKED THE first day of your supervised visit with Kai, and Aizawa wasn't exactly thrilled about the location. The area reeked of tension, and the sight of known criminals loitering in the shadows didn't help his mood.

Some slunk further back when they spotted the pro hero, casting wary glances in his direction. You couldn't help but mentally facepalm at the unnecessary attention he drew.

"Alright, Chichi, just stand outside. If I'm in trouble, I'll scream as loud as I can," you instructed, pausing in front of the gates. "And remember, no arresting anyone today, okay?" you added with a pointed look.

He let out a low grumble, but a small, fond smile tugged at his lips as he ruffled your hair. You gave him a quick, tight hug before slipping through the entrance, the compound doors closing behind you. Aizawa remained on the other side, watching like a protective shadow.

Inside, familiar faces greeted you with a mix of curiosity and warmth. The guards, many of whom you'd come to know over time, waved at you—some more welcoming than others.

"POPS, I'M HERE!" you called out, slipping off your shoes and practically leaping into the living room.

"[Name], how wonderful to see you again," came the deep, soothing voice of Kai's father. Before you could even respond, he enveloped you in a bear-like hug, pulling you into the warmth of his yukata. You felt small against him, but comforted, like you were in the embrace of an old friend.

He released you after a moment, but not before squishing your cheeks affectionately, making you laugh. Then, with a warm smile, he held out a small gift box, wrapped in gold foil.

"I heard it was your birthday recently, so I got you something special," he said, watching as you eagerly unwrapped it. Inside, nestled on a bed of velvet, lay a gold Gartier bracelet, delicate yet undeniably luxurious.

Your eyes went wide, and you nearly fumbled the box in surprise. "Pops, you really didn't need to—"

"Nonsense," he interrupted gently, placing a hand on your head. His voice softened, his gaze turning distant for a moment. "Because of you, my foolish son has found reasons to smile again. It's the least I can do."
