"Ahh!" I exclaimed as I bursted into the house recalling every moment.
"Oh my god, you scared shit out of me" Tshering said, her face covered in a face pack.
"I hate him," I blurted out.
I glanced at the TV, where Gyeltshen's face was once again on the screen feeling more irritated. "Who?" Tshering asked, peeking from her spot on the couch.
"Him," I said, pointing at the TV. Tshering looked up, puzzled. "How can you hate such a handsome amd gentleman?"
"Handsome? Handsome my foot," I said, slumping onto the couch next to her."Do you remember the Gyletshen from high school" I asked, irritated by the memory.
"Yeah, how could I forget? You spent all your money on liquor for the first time because of him," she said, chuckling recalling the past moment.
"That annoying person... is him," I said, pointing to the TV.
"What?" She looked genuinely confused.
"Druk boy 'Gyeltshen'," I clarified.
"What!" she gasped, pulling out her phone to search."Oh my god, he is," she said, showing me a high school picture of him.
"Don't show me that monkey face," I said, snatching the phone away."He was handsome back then, but he's grown even more so," she said, still looking at her phone.
"I never want to see him again," I said firmly."What?" she asked, puzzled.
"Nothing. Have you started writing your book?" I inquired. "Yeah, this time I'm going to write a great one," she said with enthusiasm.
"Okay, great for you, then I'm going to take a shower," I said. Thanks to that jerk, I had been unable to go to work. After a refreshing bath, I collapsed on the bed. While scrolling through my phone, I saw a message from the director that he was pleased with the photoshoot. The photographer had sent me the images, and they looked great. But when I reached Gyeltshen's photo, I couldn't help but think about how much I liked him in high school.
I drifted off into a dream where Gyeltshen was about to kiss me. As I instinctively closed my eyes, I heard laughter. "You're always the same, a loser," Gyeltshen's voice mocked, accompanied by a chorus of laughter. I woke up, relieved it was just a nightmare.
"Thank God, it was just a dream. The shoot is over, and I don't have to meet him," I muttered, getting out of bed. As I brushed my teeth, the dream left me increasingly agitated.
After getting dressed, I headed to the kitchen. Tshering was still asleep, I grabbed an apple from the table and took a bite.
"Tshering, I'm leaving," I called out as I put on my shoes.
"Okay," she replied from her room, likely stayed up late night writing.
Stepping outside, I enjoyed the fresh air, as always. The friendly faces in the neighborhood brightened my day. I checked my phone and saw a message from my sister:
Sista: How have you been? Do chat sometimes? When I get time off, let's go and see mom, okay..
Me: I've been excellent. Okay ^-^
My sister often worried about me and mom, probably because she was the older one. I'd always encouraged her to find a boyfriend for herself so that she could invest her time to herself, but she would always insist that Mom and I were her first priority. In return, Mom fretted that my sister would never marry and that she might never see a grandchild.
I got in the car, the last time I had left it at the office the day before as I had just finished my driving class and received my license recently, so I wasn't entirely confident. Tenzin had to drive me home sometimes. He would nag me to drive now and then so I could gain some experience. As I drove to work, I played Blackpink's "Pretty Savage" and sang along. "You better run, run." I eventually made it to the workplace parking lot, turned off the music, and got out of the car. Today seemed odd; there were a lot of people gathered in front of the building.
