The sound of sizzling jolted me awake. I realized a mattress had been draped over me. "Hey, what are you making?" I asked groggily, spotting Tshering in the kitchen.

She turned and looked at me with concern. "Why were you drinking and sleeping on the sofa?"

"Just needed a drink," I said, stretching as I stood up. "You should have called me," she said, glaring.

"Oops, I'm running late," I said, hurrying to the bathroom. "Are you ignoring me?" Tshering shouted after me.

After finishing my makeup, I stood up, ready to go "Ahh!"I screamed, Tshering was standing at my bedroom door, glaring at me as if she wanted to murder me. "You scared me!" I said, patting my heart.

"Dechen, I met a famous manga artist yesterday!" she exclaimed, doing a little excited dance. "He saw my work and want to turn it into a manga!" My eyes widened in shock, I joined her in the dance and hugged her, I was happy for her.

"Oh my god, that's your dream!" I said, smiling at her. She handed me the business card of Mr. Darjee, the manga artist.

"I'm so happy for you!" I said, giving her a tight hug again.

"Thank you, girl.. but you know, Dechen, I'm always here for you, so if something is bothering you, tell me okay?" she said, squeezing my hand. She always had a knack for sensing when I was feeling down.

"Nothing is bothering me; I was just tired yesterday and wanted a drink. You don't need to worry. Just focus on creating a beautiful story," I reassured her.

"I'm doing okay. I've finished three chapters already," she replied. "Let's go get breakfast," I suggested.

"Yes, I'm hungry too," she said, rubbing her belly.

......

"Yes, I'm on my way. Um, okay," I said before hanging up the call from Tenzin, who had been asking where I was. I was driving slowly and cautiously, wary of the recent spate of accidents. Once I arrived at work, I parked the car and took a deep breath.

When I reached the conference hall where the script reading was taking place, I could already hear the voices. I eased open the door and stepped inside.

"Hey, Dechen this is the female lead for the movie, Ms. Tshoki," Tenzin announced. I glanced at the woman beside her. She was strikingly beautiful with a slim figure and fair skin, her smile radiant. She looked exactly like the female leads in every novel and drama I'd ever read and watched. Of course, as an actress, she was bound to fit that image.

I shook off my surprise. "My name is Dechen. I'm the writer of this script," I introduced myself.

"Oh my god, I love this script! As soon as I got my hands on it, I couldn't sleep. I read it all in one night!" she gushed, taking my hand in hers.

I responded with an awkward laugh. "Thank you." Just then, the door creaked open again. I turned to see Gyeltshen, wearing a black mask, and Wangchuk, accompanied by their manager, walking in.

"I forgot to mention," Tenzin said, coming up beside me, "Mr. Wangchuk will be playing the role of the second male lead."

I tried to suppress my reaction at the thought of managing both an irritating boy and a grumpy one. Just then, a notification pinged on my phone. It was a message from the director:

Director: Make sure the script reading goes perfectly and explain everything to them.

I sighed and forced a smile as they took their seats. I stepped up onto our mini stage and grabbed a microphone. The actors and actresses were seated around a table, arranged so they could all see one another, with a table mic placed in front of each of them.
