Aanan's pov~~
I stepped into the dining room and saw She is sobbing quietly in Dadi's arms, and the sight made my chest tighten painfully.
"What's happening here??"
Without a second thought, I moved forward and pulled her toward me, my grip firm but careful, forcing her to look up at me.
"What happened?" I demanded, my voice hard.
She flinched slightly, her gaze dropping, and that only made my anger burn hotter. I turned to the rest of them, my expression darkening as I felt the barely contained fury bubbling up.
"What did you all do?" I snapped, my tone sharp enough to cut through the thick silence.
Everyone's eyes widened as they took in my harsh demeanor. No one spoke. No one even moved. And that just fueled my frustration further.
"I asked a question!" I growled, my voice rising. "What. Did. You. Do?"
"Beta, it's nothing-" Dadi tried, but I cut her off, shaking my head.
"Nothing? Does this look like nothing?" I pointed at the tears still streaming down her cheeks, fury lacing my words.
"If anyone has hurt her-" I started, my voice dropping dangerously low. "I swear-."
"She's fine, beta," Chachi finally managed cutting him, her voice, hesitant. "She just-"
"I don't want to hear excuses," I snapped, my jaw tightening. "Who made her cry?"
I felt her small hands tug gently at the edge of my sleeve, her touch like a whisper against my anger.
I glanced down at her, taking in her tear-filled gaze, and something in me shifted. The tightness in my chest eased, just a little, at the sight of her pleading with me-not for herself, but for them.
"She's just overwhelmed bhai," ishika said.
"No one made her cry," Dadi said trying to soothe my temper.
"Exactly!" Chachi jumped in, raising her hands as if surrendering. "I swear, we didn't do anything. She just... got emotional."
Bua Ji nodded fervently. "Yes, yes, believe us, we're innocent!"
"And me too," Dada Ji added quickly. "I was just sitting here quietly, like the perfect, harmless old man that I am."
A soft giggle escaped her lips, breaking through the heavy tension. I froze, my gaze snapping back to her.
That sound... it did something to me, eased something. I watched her, her eyes crinkled slightly, a smile lingering on her face.
I pulled her closer, burying my face in her hair. "I hate seeing you cry pearl," I murmured, my voice rough.
She nodded slowly, her body stiffened, and I exhaled shakily, pressing a soft kiss to her hair.
Everyone cleared their throats "We're not seeing anything," they all said in unison, earning a sharp glare from me.
She pulled away from me suddenly, her cheeks flushed. I went and sat down in my chair.
She still stood there, her gaze fixed on the floor, lost in thought.
"Sit down," I commanded, my voice authoritative, cutting through the playful banter in the room. Immediately she obeyed, sliding into her chair.
Kashvi's pov~~
I stood frozen, fear gripping me as his harsh voice echoed around the room. He is so fierce, demanding to know why I was crying.
My heart raced, not just from fear but from something else-something like butterflies.
