"Hey. We're here wake up." I managed to make out as I got awoken from my sleep.
My eyes still heavy, slowly but surely started to flutter open. I look up from my seat to be met with Max's face smiling at me. He put his hand on my head and ruffled my hair making it even more messy.
"Cmon sleepyhead let's get you checked in."
Still, I haven't spoken a word but instead observed my surroundings to see that everyone was off the tour bus already. The lights of the top of the bus pierced my eyes with all its luminousity. I close my eyes and scrunched my face with visible discomfort on my face.
This time I force my eyes to stay open. I focus my eyes on Max as he made his way to the front to the bus to talk to the driver.
I let out a small groan. I'm so tired. I don't even know how much sleep I got.
I got up from my seat and grabbed my bag from the top shelf above me. My bag felt like it gained 10 pound overnight. I move slowly through the aisle, basically dragging my feet. I am NOT a morning person whatsoever.
The morning sun shines throughout the bus windows and sends glares onto my face. I squint my eyes from half being blinded by the lights and half being sleepy. I make it to the front of the bus and start my way down the steps to get off.
"Sound good. Thank you." Max finishes his conversation with the bus driver. Max catches up following me behind on the stairs.
"Hey superstar! How ya feeling?" he starts a conversation.
"exhausted." I finally spoke.
He chuckles "I bet."
"At least we're at the hotel." I say in relief.
Silence falls between us as the cool morning air hit my face, a refreshing contrast to the warmth inside. I look around and saw the hotel standing in front of us, a sleek, modern building with glass window that reflected the early sunlight. I noticed a few fans were gathered by the entrance, some holding signs and phones, waiting to catch a glimpse of us.
No privacy eh?
"Looks like you got some admirers" Max teased, nodding towards the small crowd.
I sighed, trying to muster the energy to put on a friendly face. "Yeah, gotta give the people what they want." I muttered, rubbing my eyes.
"Just smile and wave, we'll be inside sooner than you know it." he grinned, adjusting the strap of his bag over his shoulder.
I took a deep breath, shaking off the lingering sleepiness, and made my way towards the fans. As soon as they saw me their faces lit up and I could hear them calling my name. I forced a smile and gave a few waves, trying to push through the exhaustion. It felt surreal sometimes—how much love and attention came my way—but right now, all I could think about was collapsing on a bed.

Max handled most of the check-in process while I leaned against the counter, zoning out. I could hear the soft buzz of the hotel lobby alive, the faint beeps from the waffle making machines and the receptionist typing away on her keyboard. I caught snippets of their conversation, but my mind was already drifting.
"Alright, we're all set!" Mad said, tapping me on the shoulder. "Let's get you upstairs."
I followed him to the elevator, my body feeling heavier with each step. As the doors closed, I asked-
"How are you so jolly right now?"
Max gave me a chuckle "Someone's gotta be."
