-------------------

"Please don't!!" I said screaming until my lungs ran out of breath. "Tell me !" My angry dad screamed in my face as the smell of alcohol lingered in his breath from last night. "I was hungry and hadn't in days! The last food you gave me was from a week ago!" I said as he started to push me towards a corner. I backed up tripping over mine own feet. I had to use his extra money to buys some food. I wanted to survive, but He didn't want me to.

My dad never stopped. This was pretty normal and actually better than yesterday. Yesterday, He tried stabbing me with a broken piece of his last nights beer bottle.

Without any further thought, He slapped me and my face went completely numb. The feel of his unbearably cold hands contacting my skin was already telling me the words he would say to me.

"Worthless." He said eyeing me. His lifeless gray eyes were so convincing, I believed it myself. I was worthless. He walked away back into his room where all his problems went down the drain. I then let myself lay there motionless.

When I went to school a while ago, I had all the friends I wanted. They all thought of me so highly. I had some high expectations to live up to. Then, My mom died.

My dad treated me like he did because of my mothers death. He thought it was my fault but really it was his. She was my role model, and I would never kill her.

*******Flashback 3 years***********

I was 16 walking home from the bus stop. I couldn't wait to talk to my mom. I wanted to tell her about my day. I looked forward to it everyday. We were even more close than any other parent and child.

Life was perfect. I was on the soccer team, cheerleading squad, and dance team. I was doing great with grades, and everyone I loved, loved me back.

I walked down the familiar cobblestone road as the stranded rocks gritted under my faded black converses. I walked to my house that was just a little more into the neighborhood. Family friends and neighbors outside greeting me along the way.

It was nice to walk home again like when I was 15. The walks to my house had always been delightful, but I learned how to drive, and I pretty much drove 24/7 except for today.

I arrived at the only house i'd known. The sight of it made my heart jump with even more excitement. I walked on the uneven brick path leading me to my place of comfort.

I gripped the knob tightly and twisting it in a fast motion. The scent of burnt cookies filled the thick air. I ran to the kitchen curiously and fast as lightning. I wonder what could be going on. I always knew that curiosity could never get me any where but trouble and this was no exception.

I backed up looking slightly around the corner. "Stop it!!" I heard my mothers voice as it escalated in loudness. My mother suddenly spotted me and silently motioned for me to go.

Before I could obey her, My dad grabbed my arm tightly and spun me around to see him face to face. His hand went up like he was about to slap me when my mother grabbed him by the arm. "Don't touch her!" My mother screamed after pushing his arm back down. "Well someone just made a mistake." My dad said walking slowly towards her. Her eyes filled with tears. One after another they fell out of her once smiling eyes. She wiped them away and pushed him strong enough to let her run.

My dad tried to go after her, but I wrapped my hand around his muscular arm. He kept on going. I kept my grip only to be sliding on the floor. He turned around and punched my arm violently hoping for me to let go. I let go yelping in pain. I suddenly dropped to the floor. The floor certainly wasn't helping this matter. At a matter of seconds my head pounded. The enormous headache and bruise was not going to stop me though. I got up feeling very weak and unstable.
