(A/N: Highly recommend listening to this song by BTS while you read this)

I've been staring at this girl for way too long. Like, way too long. I don't even realize it until she pulls out one of her earpods and looks straight at me.

"Hello?" she asks, her voice casual, but I catch the confusion in it. "How can I help you?"

Oh man, I blink, how long was I staring? I'm trying to remember how to form words. My eyes quickly take in the details- dark hair, soft lips, that little focused pout she's got going on. She's been writing something, completely absorbed in her own world, and now I'm just standing here, frozen like an idiot.

She must've noticed everything- my big brown eyes, the scar under my eye, and the tattoos running down my arm. It's hard to miss, especially the ARMY tattoo. I see the flicker of realization cross her face.

"Jeon Jungkook," she says, her voice so casual, it throws me off. She's not excited, not starstruck. She says my name like she's running into someone familiar in the grocery store. "Pleasant surprise. How can I help you?"

And just like that, my brain completely shuts down. Without even thinking, my mouth decides to ruin every thing.

"Are you single?"

Wait. What?

Dude. What the hell did I just say? Did I really- did I actually ask her that?

Her eyebrows shoot up so high they nearly disappear into her bangs. Her lips twitch for a second, and my heart does this awkward flop in my chest. Nice one, Jungkook. Really smooth.

Instead of reacting, she just nods toward the chair next to her. "You can take the chair, you're welcome," she says, completely misinterpreting what I meant. She's got this unreadable look, and then just like that, she's back to her notebook, stuffing her earpod in her ear like I didn't just embarrass myself.

I scramble to grab the chair and practically run to the table in front of her. Good job, Jungkook. Real smooth. But the relief washes over me- thank God she didn't take my question for what it was. She probably thinks I just wanted to sit down.

But now, I can't stop staring again.

She's completely zoned out, eyes glued to her notebook. Her hair falls in soft strands around her face, framing it perfectly. There's something peaceful about the way she's working, writing things down with her sleek hands while her laptop screen glows in front of her. Her head bobs slightly to the beat of whatever music she's listening to, and for some reason, I can't tear my eyes away.

She's magnetic- calm and beautiful in this effortless way that makes it hard to look anywhere else. I've never been this drawn to someone before. It's like she's pulling me in, completely unaware of how she's doing it.

My heart does this weird flip again. Dang it, Jungkook, I think to myself, leaning back in my chair. Looks like you just found your special someone.
