A Not So Chance Encounter

~Auburn P.O.V.

Tonight is the night of the grand reopening of Onyx. I'm a bit antsy I must admit but as long as I have Dre with me, I'll be fine. I'm still working V.I.P and since I'm undoubtedly sure that Demetrius will be there tonight, Dre and some of Jarvis' friends are going to be camped out making sure nothing slick goes down.

I sent Kayla over to her babysitter's house since everyone will be at Onyx tonight. Dre and I were getting ready together when my phone rang on the nightstand. I went to answer it not at all looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?"  I said into the phone.

"Ready for the grand reopening?" I heard Vanessa say on the other end of the line.

"You already know, darling. You there yet?" I asked, strapping on my heels.

"Yes and the line outside is crazy. We all have our hands full tonight, you better hurry your ass up and get down here. V.I.P. is soon to be packed and you wanna get there first before you know who. You know his eyes will be fixed upon those stairs awaiting your entrance."

"You're right, we'll be there soon enough. Tell J to keep his eye out and let me know when he gets there." 

"Will do, lovely. See you soon." She said before hanging up.

I went to the bathroom and did a quick outfit and makeup check before going back into our adjoining bedroom. I sat on the bed watching Dre finish getting ready. He was looking for his right shoe, damn near emptying out the closet, not even realizing I had it in my hand. I just held it, giggling the entire time.

"What's so funny over there?" He slightly chuckled looking up.

"Looking for something?" I questioned in a smart tone of voice.

"Oh that's funny to you, huh?" He took the shoe from my hand pushing me back on the bed. I was laughing hysterically at this point. "Really not that funny Auburn." He scolded.

"You're right, I'm sorry, love." I walked up to him and gave him a quick kiss before hitting his ass and leaving the room.

"Come on before you make me late." I shouted behind me.

I grabbed Dre's keys to his Audi and my purse as he came downstairs looking better than ever. I smiled to myself and we went to get in the car so that we could finally leave.

Upon arriving, I witnessed the line outside of the building stretch from the door to down the street. Dre gave the keys to the valet and we walked in holding hands. I shook my head and laughed at all of the girls screaming and ogling over him and staring me down. What a shame.

We went up to V.I.P. where J's crew was guarding the place and Dre went to sit, not before kissing my lips. I went behind the bar as the V.I.P.'s began making their way up. I served drinks and chilled listening to the DJ play track after track. My phone buzzed and I checked to see that J had texted me.

Aye, keep a lookout, ya boys here.

I sent him a text back to say thank you. Just as I had sent the text, I watched as Demetrius made his way up, sitting in a section in the corner. I felt a surge of random emotions, sadness, anger, fear, anguish. I felt it all, I caught Dre looking at me and then my phone buzzed.

Baby girl, relax, I won't let him hurt you.
