Chapter Nine*Old Friend

I hop out of the truck and go inside the rental place I look around and see a lady at the desk

hello how can I help you? she says in a friendly customer service tone

I smile back at her, oh I would like to rent a car for...(I think for a moment) a month

Oh really that's a pretty long time

yeah I'm going on vacation with my husband I smile back

okay well let me take you back and you can pick out a car

I follow her to the back of the store where all the cars are parked I look at all of them and think about what would be best for the trip

I decide on a black jeep it has good mobility and it's fast enough Plus they're my favorite car

So you want this one the lady says

Yep this will do fine

okay let's go back up front so we can sign the papers

I follow her back to the front of the store and she hands me papers

can I see your ID please? I pull the fake ID out of my pocket and hand it to her

she looks at it and nods and hands it back. I finished signing the papers and then she gives me the keys to the car.

I drive the Jeep up front when I see Damien and Ecko walking I stick my hand out the window and wave to them

Over here slowpokes! I say teasingly

Ecko barks and runs to the jeep, Damian laughs and run with him.

Even though we've been married for three years he still gives me butterflies.

I can't help but smile when I see him laugh.

He opens the back door to let Ecko in

What are you smiling about love? he says with a heart warming smile.

I laugh just at your cuteness. His face turns shocked for a minute then he blushes.

B-be quite I'm not cute he's says in a grumpy voice that just makes my laugh more as he gets in the passenger seat.

He gets in the car and shuts the door then turn and looks at Ecko in the back seat who's laying down.

Get comfy boy we got a long drive ahead.

He turns to me nice choice with the jeep, be honest though you just picked it cuz it's you favorite car huh? He says teasingly

You caught me putting my hands up

We both let out a laugh

Your a goofball he say between laughing

-time skip 5 and a half hours-

The gas is running low so I pull over to fill it up in a near by gas station, Damian is asleep with his head rested on the the door.

I pull up to the pump and am about to get out when Damians phone screen lights up.

I look at the screen

Unknown* 1 new message

I stare at it for a moment and shake my head I get out and select what gas I need and fill up the car.

I can't help but think about who he's texting I trust Damian so I know it's nothing, like cheating but who could he be texting.
