thanksgiving was one of my favorite holidays we spend time with family we feast and talk about just about anything we can. Leyla was spending her 2nd thanksgiving with my family and she was so nervous.
" im scared mommy dey' wont 'mamember me " she pouts i smile kissing her chubby cheeks " they will sweetheart! and they're gonna love you just as much as mommy does, they're your family now too okay " i say slightly rubbing her shoulders as she nods

we had finished our shower and i was finishing getting us ready, this holiday round we were gonna be the last ones there I WAS NEVER LATE. this year i definitely was. Only because i let leyla sleep in longer

we were on our way over and the food was just being set out so we werent late late but we had just made it and my sister helped me bring in my contribution for the food
everybody had their eyes on leyla wanting to hug her and talk to her but she was to shy she hid behind me and just whined
i held up a finger to give her a moment to try and come out and talk to them on her own she went and sat with my sister and slowly everybody starting talking
i served her a plate and she smiled " thank you mommy " she says as everybody awed making her blush and hide again
i filled up her sippy cup and passed it to her as we all started talking " hey leyla do you remember me aunt gem " my aunt asked as she looked at her then to me " um no " she says sadly " who do you think bought the vest you were just wearing" i said as she gasped " AUNTIE GEMMIE " she smiled and clapped finally remember her and how she cried at the mall for that vest....what a day that was-
as she was eating i could see in her face that she was wanting more but refused to ask
" would you like more lovely " my mother asks her as she nods " yes mama! " she grins
" spoiled " i said as the family laughed

leyla did open up to a few people but refused to talk to my grandfather mark.
" look grandpa mark has some stickers go get one for me and you baby " i say as she just cried and kicked her feet
i sighed left her to cry on the floor watching as all my younger cousins gathered around for stickers and treats he had bought. but when she saw me walking away she up and followed me
my sister was trying to give her the pacifier but i stopped her " if she wants it she asks! " i say getting a little frustrated with not her but myself
i went to the bathroom and was going to close the door before hearing " NO MOMMYYY " i peaked out and saw my mom holding her " go ahead sweetheart take your time saw the look on your face " she says winking at me as i smile and go in
GRANDMA POV:
" come on sweetheart lets go play huh " i say taking leyla far from the bathroom i saw her mommy with a little sour face i knew she needed space
" wan' paci mama " she says crying and upset as i give her a sad smile finding her pacifier in the baby bag " here my sweet girl " i say as she takes it in her hand for a little while before putting it in her mouth
she notices as all the younger cousins are playing with cars and barbies and baby dolls on the ground and coloring i slowly move her towards the fun while she looks at me then the cousins thn my and the coloring
" leyla play with us come " one of the eldest cousins says as leyla takes his hand and sits with him on the floor eventually laughing and playing before taking her pacifier out her mouth to talk to everybody
i noticed that Michelle was in the bathroom for a while so i went to check on her
i knocked and she said hello
" its mom let me in " i say as i hear the door unlock and she comes out and hugs me
" i pressured her i feel like i did i dont know, i always try to get her to try new things so that she can get over her fears but i dont think i did it right! and now shes upset and its my fault and- " she just breaks down as i shush her and hug her
i help her to calm down before bringing her out to show her how happy and social Leyla was being she calms down a bit and goes to sit on the couches surrounding where the little cousins were
" mommy! " Leyla says running up to her mommy
" i play! hol'it mommy! i go play more " she says excited giving michelle the pacifier giving her a small peck on the cheek before continuing to play!
" happy thanksgiving my beautiful family " i say as michelle and the others say it back even Leyla
" HAPPY! T'ANKSGIVING MOMMY AND MAMA AND COUSINS AND AUNTIE GEMMA AND PAWPAW AND grandpamarkie " she says smiling at everyone before shying away again hoding her face in michelles legs as she patted her back laughing.
