— Sympathy
DIZZY DIDN'T ANSWER Freddie's call because she thought it had been a butt dial. She didn't think he'd call her out of the blue. She'd been keeping to herself since the ball since everyone had been coupled up, hunky dory all together while she somehow simultaneously hated and wanted someone all at once. So, when Freddie showed up at her doorstep, she was actually confused. Luckily, her father wasn't home, so it was easy to just let him and JJ in to hear whatever he had to say out.
They sat around the dining table quietly for a moment, waiting for Dizzy's response as she smoked a cigarette.
"I can't," Dizzy finally responded.
"You know her best, Dizz, you're the only one to get her to listen best," Freddie tried to convince the girl. Dizzy huffed and leaned back in the chair.
"Drag her back just to runaway with you next? No, I don't think so, Freds," Dizzy declined again.
"It's not like that, come on," Freddie pleaded. Dizzy sighed and looked at her lit cigarette and the way the smoke swirled in the air.
"Fuck it," Dizzy grumbled, getting up. "If I'm going, I'm packing and going now because my parents will go ballistic when they find out what I'm doing. Well, my dad will anyhow."
"Alright, sounds good," Freddie said rather cheerfully.
"How are we getting there?" Dizzy quizzed and Freddie shared a look with JJ.
"Here's the thing, we know you're mad at him, but..." Freddie began, but Dizzy was quick to cut him off.
"If he's taking us, that's fine, but one of you are riding in the passenger seat, I'd rather die than sit beside him," Dizzy spat before taking off upstairs. To pack, and put a bit of light makeup on. Gotta make him regret those choices somehow.

THE CAR RIDE was mostly filled with Jace's car stereo. He kept looking back at Dizzy in the rearview mirror, which she gladly ignored as they drove. She was persistent on dangling the carrot for however long she could. It was unclear whether or not they'd talk again, but she knew one thing, he looked at her with want and desire. Which was good.
The ride was relatively silent, as Dizzy said, so when Jace turned down the radio, the silence was pretty much palpable.
"How've you been, Dizzy?" Jace asked causing Freddie to look at her reaction. JJ had taken the front seat.
"Terrific. I've been to lots of clubs and whatnot. I've been having fun," Dizzy responded and Jace smirked.
"I'm sure you have," He chuckled making her narrow her eyes.
