Chapter 10: The True Enemy
The group stood victorious, but Ryujin's final words echoed in their minds.
"The true enemy remains," Ryujin whispered.
A cryptic warning.
A hidden threat.
Kaito's eyes narrowed.
"What did he mean?" Kaito asked, his voice filled with concern.
Taro frowned.
"Ryujin's madness was deep-seated," Taro said. "Perhaps it was just a dying breath."
Eira shook her head.
"I sense something more," Eira said, her icy blue eyes gleaming with intuition. "A darkness beyond Ryujin's."
Lysander's light flickered.
"I've heard rumors," Lysander said, his voice filled with trepidation. "Whispers of an ancient evil."
Arin's eyes gleamed.
"I've seen shadows moving," Arin said, his voice low. "Shadows that shouldn't exist."
Lian's elemental powers stirred.
"The balance is shifting," Lian said. "A new threat emerges."
Suddenly, the throne room shook.
The ground trembled.
The walls cracked.
A dark portal opened.
A figure stepped out.
Tall, imposing, and shrouded in darkness.
"Welcome, heroes," the figure said, its voice dripping with malice. "I am Xandros, the True Enemy."
Xandros's presence suffocated the air.
His darkness was palpable.
Kaito drew his sword.
"We won't back down," Kaito said, his determination unwavering.
Xandros smiled.
"You should," Xandros said. "For I am the one who will bring eternal night."
The group stood firm.
United against the new threat.
But Xandros's power was unlike anything they had faced.
His darkness seemed to have a life of its own.
It twisted and writhed.
Like a living entity.
The battle began.
Kaito clashed with Xandros.
Taro unleashed elemental fury.
Eira summoned icy blasts.
Arin struck from the shadows.
Lysander's light illuminated the darkness.
Lian's elemental powers raged.
But Xandros would not fall.
His darkness absorbed their attacks.
And grew stronger.
The group faltered.
Their bond was tested.
Their determination wavered.
But they refused to yield.
For they knew.
Xandros must be defeated.
At any cost.
