Arjun looked startled as the car came to a screeching halt. He was so lost in thought that he had not realized that they reached their destination. Roohi turned off the ignition and looked at him. She had never seen the Phoenix wear his emotions on his sleeves. The boy and the woman did a number on him.
"Who are they, Arjun?" She asked the question that plagued her for the last 48 hours.
"Family" Arjun said as he unbuckled his seatbelt. He wanted to get out but Roohi held his hand and stopped him.
"I know that. You called her Bhabhi."
Arjun nodded his head.
"Abhimaan Rajwanshi was not married. What am I missing? That boy...."
"Is my brother's son. Never question Bahbhi's right, Roohi. It's a very personal matter for us. You are a good friend, but there are some things that I cannot tell you. It is Bhabhi's story to share, and until she trusts you with the truth, I cannot tell you anything."
Roohi nodded her head. He had told her enough to clear the confusion. She was not the type to judge someone for having a child out of wedlock. If Akanksha was Abhimaan's woman it was their business. She was relieved that Arjun was not involved with the woman and child.
"She is very important to you."
"Bhaiya was like a father to me."
"And you think that makes her your mother?" Roohi shook her head. She highly doubted that a woman like Akanksha could mother anyone. If she had noble intentions, she would not have kept the truth from the Rajwanshis. For eight years the family was kept in the dark about the child. She did not want to judge, but it was hard not to. Roohi sighed in frustration, once again she was jumping to conclusions. Her father often warned her that she was too set in her ways, which made her a good officer, but not a good friend. Arjun was more than a friend, his family should be important for her too, but she found it hard to make peace with what Akanksha did.
