Liora shook her head. "But I don't feel powerful or special. I've been rejected my whole life."

"The greatest magic often hides where no one thinks to look," Feyara said. "You were born in this world to unite two realms—human and fae. The darkness that lurks in the shadows of your city is growing. It feeds on cruelty, despair, and hate. And only you can stop it."

Before Liora could respond, a brilliant light enveloped her, and she felt her body change. She gasped as her reflection shimmered in the water—her tangled hair had become long and radiant, and her skin glowed with an inner light. Her once plain clothing had transformed into a gown of leaves and starlight. But most striking of all were the wings—transparent and iridescent, extending from her back, shimmering with every movement.

"I... I'm a fairy," she whispered in awe, her heart racing.

“You have always been,” Feyara said gently. “The human world only saw what was on the surface, but now the magic within you has awakened. You are a protector, Liora, of both realms. You must face the darkness, the one that hides behind the masks of those who tormented you. They are being consumed by it.”

Liora’s mind raced. The faces of those who had bullied her—mocked her—flashed through her thoughts. Could she truly save them? Could she protect a city that had shown her nothing but cruelty?

Feyara seemed to sense her hesitation. “You have known their pain because you were meant to understand their hearts. It is through love and kindness that you will defeat the darkness, not through revenge.”

Taking a deep breath, Liora nodded. She didn’t feel ready, but something inside her—something deep and ancient—told her she could do this. She had to.

Liora flew back to Eldermoor, her wings carrying her above the city she had once walked through in shame. She could now see what Feyara had spoken of—a thick, swirling darkness lay over the hearts of many, feeding on their cruelty, their fear, and their hate. The same darkness that had once dimmed her own light.

But Liora did not fear it. She raised her hands, and from her fingertips flowed streams of golden light, wrapping the city in warmth and magic. She touched the hearts of those who had hurt her, and as the light reached them, their eyes widened. The darkness melted away, replaced by understanding and regret.

People began to weep—some out of shame, others out of newfound clarity. They saw Liora as she truly was, not the ugly girl they had mocked, but a radiant being of magic and kindness.

As the last of the darkness faded, Liora landed softly in the city square. The people gathered around her in awe, but this time there were no cruel words, only gratitude." You saved us" The people screamed both men and women.
