S2 E11

Last week Cathy gave me and Kendall an amazing opportunity and met us dance for some basketball players at half time.

It was fun.

We have had tons of privates. I really like it, but it's not the same.

Now we are back at Candy Apples for another week.

"Little apples. Hi girls. Hello Mr. Justice. So everyone I just wanted to give you the announcement, we are going to Chicago" Cathy says.

We all cheer.

"that sounds like fun. Justice is gonna be doing his solo again, so I really want him to be our night shining armor for this competition and what I've put together is a clown number. It's not like the awk that kind of crown number is very dark and I pacifically chose Taylor as a tight rope walker because you have the most incredible grangites so I am hoping that that's going to be like a magical moment for you and for sure we all know who the Clown is. That Clown lives over in Pennsylvania. She doesn't live here in Ohio" Cathy says.

The moms laugh.

"We've got a lot of rehearsing to do so thank you for coming in and kids will be done in about an hour" Cathy says.

We then learn the group.

Four Days To Competition

Today we had a playdate with Kenzie and Maddie while our moms went out for lunch.

"Do you miss us?" Maddie asks.

"Definitely" Kendall laughs.

"Yes" I say quickly.

"It's not the same" I say.

"Yea" Kendall agrees.

"We miss you guys too" Kenzie says.

"So how is it, at Candy Apples?" Maddie asks.

"Ummm, it's different but it's not bad" Kendall says.

I just shake my head.

And everyone laughs.

Three Days To Competition

"Hey, guys, are you ready? Come on, be ready. Get it done right the first time" Cathy says.

We go over our group number.

"Go, go" Cathy says.

We start the number.

"Stay together girls. Reach out, Kendall, spooky" Cathy says.

"Make sure, your on time, Haz"

We finish up.

"Okay, guys that was good. Couple of things I saw. Kendall, make sure that you hit this, really luring those judges in, okay?" Cathy says.

"Ok" Kendall says.

"So I will run it again tomorrow when I see you guys. Go home, think about the choreography we'll be fine" Cathy says.

"Get out, go, I have a rehearsal to run. Vivi, you're not going anywhere baby doll" Cathy says.

We all leave for the day.

Competition Day

We were heading to the dressing room.

"Come on Apples let's go. Everyone focused on what we rehearsed last night?" Cathy asks.

"Yes" We all say.

"Okay, good. You feeling okay, Kendall and Hazel?" Cathy asks.

"Yeah" We say.

"Good. Good. Does it feel good to be an apple?" Cathy asks.

"Yup" Me and Kendall says.

"Perfect" Cathy says.

Justice was now practicing his solo.

"So some stretching. While Justice is practicing stay out of his way so he can concentrate" Cathy says.

"Jill are you feeling good. Does it feel good to be an Apple?" Cathy says.

"It feels good to be an Apple" Mom says.

"Yeah, you bet it does, baby" Cathy says.

"An Apple a day keeps Abby away" Mom says.

"That's right" Cathy says.

We then go to the audience for Justice.

Maddie goes first and she was the same as before. Amazing.

Then it was Justice and I clapped for him because he is my teammate now.

He did a good job too.

Soon the trio from Abby went and then it was awards.

Awards

"All right now it's time for our top awards" The announcer says

" we're going to start off with our petite division. First place in the petite division goes to... entry number 3 "Reflections," Maddie from Abby Lee Dance Company"

I clapped for Maddie.

But also felt bad for Justice.

Trio awards

" now we move into our junior overall. We're gonna start off with our duo/trio" The announcer says

" and third place goes to " Frankensteins Bride"

" second place in our junior overall goes to entry number 88 "Hi De Ho"

ALDC did not win.

It was a couple of hours before the groups so I just played in my IPad.

I mean, I knew no one here and no one is my age except Vivi so I watch Icarly with her.

Soon we get ready for the group.

We then head backstage.

"Faces on, everybody" Cathy says.

We walk past the ALDC.

We then rehearse the dance a little in the hall.

Then we went backstage to perform.

I saw Kenzie and I hugged her.

Even though I'm not on her dance team anymore, she is still my best friend.

The ALDC went first and they did a beautiful lyrical routine.

Gosh I wish I could do it with them.

Then it was our turn.

"Next up, coming to the stage we have, entry number 276, "Ode to a Clown"

We walk onstage. And our music starts. It was very weird dancing with the whole new group. Especially girls that was almost twice my age.

As we were dancing Taylor was behind and soon she left the stage.

I was so confused.

We got done and we headed backstage to check on Taylor.

There was drama about and she was crying and the emergency came and got her.

I hope she's ok.

We went back to the dressing room.

"Well, Hazel and Kendall, you guys are gonna have to replace Taylor can you guys do that for us?" Cathy asks.

"Yea" Me and Kendall says.

Group awards

" Junior overall group, We're gonna start off with first place in our group in our junior overall goes to...entry number 119, "All the way Down" Dance Arts Center"

We didn't win.

" second place goes to entry number 103 "countdown" Midwest Edge dance Academy

" Third place in the junior overall group goes to Entry number 84 "Trapped" Abby Lee dance Company"

We didn't have place. Not surprised.

We soon go home.
