Meeting Area

Another meeting went by without much happening. There were only small conversations happening which were tied around similar interests. Class A again Abstained. After the meeting was over Karuizawa left the room when Manabe bumped into her on purpose as her phone fell onto the ground and broke.

"Huh? Why?"

"I'm so sorry. It was an accident."

She said this but the malicious smirk on her face was obvious.

"Are you alright Karuizawa?"

"My phone..."

"Sorry Karuizawa-San. Looks like it's broken. You;ll have to wait to get back to school to get it fixed."

Manabe said it under her breath but I clearly heard the next thing she said.

"Heh heh. Looks like you won't be able to call anyone for help anymore."

'Trying to isolate her so you can strike when she's alone? A good strategy.'

Karuizawa shivered but I walked over.

"You need a phone, right? You can use mine for the time being."

"What? Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I am. I want to lock some files so I'll give it to you later."

She looked up at me and smiled happily.

"Thanks so much Ayanokoji-Kun."

Manabe sneered at this. Ichinose's voice suddenly called out.

"Ayanokoji-Kun. Could you come over here for a second?"

I walked over to her.

"What is it Ichinose-San?"

"What exactly is your relationship with Karuizawa-San?"

"Hm? Why do you ask?"

"The way she looks at you. Are you dating? No, even still the way she looks at you seems unhealthy. Is she okay?"

'How interesting. She's certainly a people person.'

"No, we're not. I suppose you could say that I help her here and there."

"You wouldn't say she's a friend?"

"Oh... not sure. I wouldn't want to be too forward."

"Ayanokoji-Kun... did you not have many friends in middle school?"

'Right on the money. Well technically not but still.'

"I suppose I was a bit of a loner. Why?"

"You should spend more time with her. Get to know her better. I'm sure the two of you would be great friends."

"I don't know. I don't want to overstep."

"Trust me it'll be fine. You should be more confident."

Ichinose smirked as she pushed me to the door.

"Go and talk to her!"

I stepped out.

'Should I really talk to her?'

Before I could think any further I saw Karuizawa being followed down a hall as Yukimura walked over to me.

"Ayanokoji. I don't like the look of that. Let's go check it out."
