As the day went on, Taehyung couldn't help but notice the sharp glares from several girls as he walked through the halls. He wasn't sure what had changed, but their whispers grew louder and more hostile. Each passing group seemed to throw mocking glances his way, and it became harder to ignore.

"Look at him. Thinks he's so special," one girl sneered as she passed.

Another rolled her eyes, her voice dripping with venom, "Why would anyone like him? He's just trying to get attention."

Taehyung felt his stomach tighten, each harsh word cutting deeper than the last. He lowered his gaze, pretending not to hear, but their words stuck to him like thorns. What had he done to deserve this? Was it because of the rumors? The incident at his locker had been bad enough, but this felt different. It felt personal.

He tried to brush it off as he headed to his next class, but the whispers followed him. His footsteps quickened, hoping to escape the toxic atmosphere, but just as he was about to enter the classroom, a voice stopped him.

"Taehyung."

Taehyung turned, surprised to see Minho, one of the rugby team members, walking toward him. Minho was tall, muscular, and known for his confident, cocky attitude—someone who had always seemed distant, like he was part of a world Taehyung didn't belong to.

"Uh, hi," Taehyung replied cautiously, unsure of Minho's intentions. They hadn't interacted much before, and considering Minho was close to the guys who often mocked him, Taehyung wasn't sure what to expect.

Minho flashed a grin that didn't quite reach his eyes. "I was wondering, you know... if you wanted to hang out sometime. Like, after school or something. Maybe grab something to eat?"

Taehyung blinked, taken aback. He couldn't remember the last time one of the rugby players had approached him for anything other than a joke or a comment made in passing. The sudden friendliness felt... off.

"I, um..." Taehyung hesitated, glancing around. A few students were lingering nearby, and he could feel their eyes on him, especially the girls who had been throwing insults his way earlier. It didn't help that Minho's invitation seemed too casual, like there was something else going on. Why would he, of all people, suddenly want to hang out with Taehyung?

"Come on," Minho pressed, his voice smoother now, a smirk playing on his lips. "It'll be fun. You're always hanging out with that Jimin guy, right? You should branch out a little."

Taehyung felt a pang of discomfort. Something about the way Minho was looking at him—the way he was framing his words—felt wrong. Like he wasn't being sincere, as if this was all part of some game. The way the girls were staring, whispering amongst themselves, only made the situation worse. It felt like he was being set up for something.

"I don't know..." Taehyung started, taking a small step back, his instincts telling him to leave.

But Minho wasn't backing down. He chuckled, leaning in slightly. "Come on, Taehyung. Don't be shy. It's just a little hangout. Besides, you could use some new friends. Or maybe something else..."

The implication behind his words made Taehyung's skin crawl. He knew that tone, the one that masked intentions behind seemingly innocent words. Minho wasn't being friendly—he was playing at something, something Taehyung didn't want any part of.

"I think I'll pass," Taehyung said, his voice firmer than he expected. He stepped away from Minho, his eyes searching for an exit, feeling the weight of the stares from the students around him.

Minho's smile faltered, but only for a second. His eyes darkened, and his voice lowered. "Suit yourself. But don't think you can ignore me forever, Taehyung. People like you don't get to choose who they're friends with."
