Omniscient"Right here right here right here!!"
"Look ahead for me!"
"That's it! Yes, beautiful!"
Flashes, going from five to ten to twenty, nonstop, could be heard as the Lloyd siblings stood in line along the red carpet, five bright smiles captivated in essence by every modern camera.
Dressed in formal gowns for the late evening, they posed and posed for what seemed like a thousand pictures before three of them soon stood aside to give two the spotlight.
Ezra and Amber. The eldest, the twins, and the next in line to inherit the family company as their father was due to announce his retirement ever so soon.
Watching them with a warm smile on her glammed face, Cheyenne clasped her hands as a happy sway took her body, for tonight she wore a black elegant bodycon dress that bore her back and flared around her lower legs. Her makeup was dark with hints of golden allure, pertaining to the twins' "Roaring 20's" birthday party theme, given that this was their last year before thirty. Being the last born at twenty-three years old herself, she admired her older siblings like no other. Especially the two first borns.
"Watch it," she jerked her head and cut her eyes at the assistant trying to brush her long straight hair. Offering an apologetic grimace in response, the woman remained silent upon Cheyenne's glare before slowly drawing her attention back to her siblings, annoyance glimpsing through her. "And don't you dare step on my dress, Marley, or I swear-"
"It's Macy," the assistant mumbled under her breath, not expecting her boss to hear. Her eyes soon widened though, when the black hair she was brushing whipped across her face a little.
"Excuse me??" dark brown eyes daggered down at her, daring her to repeat herself.
"N-Nothing," Macy cleared her throat, averting her eyes. "I said nothing, Ms. Lloyd."
Annoyed even further, Cheyenne then snatched the brush from the young woman, causing her to flinch and furrow her eyebrows as her boss gestured over her own shoulder. "You know what you're done- Go switch with Issa," she ordered, referring to her sister Ciara's assistant.
"But- Ms. Charice said-"
"Did I give you the impression that I needed a response??" Cheyenne glared again, a scowl on her face before she pointed with force toward Issa. "Go. Now!"
Frowning once she felt tears prickle her eyes, Macy bowed her head before scurrying away to do as told, all while Cheyenne had huffed with a roll to her eyes and shake to her head.
"Fucking annoying as hell," she mumbled to herself, now retrieving shimmering lip gloss from her small handbag.
"You need to stop being so mean to her," Kennedie joined arms with her younger sister as they made their way inside. "Don't be mad when she shaves your head bald in your sleep."
"She knows I'll ruin her life so bad she'll wish I put a hit on her if she ever tries something like that," Cheyenne grinned, chuckling at the look Kennedie shot her.
Her heels added a mesmerizing touch to her walk as the five siblings strutted through the hall, making their way to the center of the floor for the main celebration. They were an aspiration for most of the people there, given their generational wealth and status within the real-estate industry. Every person that didn't know them wanted to. To look as they did, have the bond they all did, afford the things they could, and go the places they would.
Their lives were perfect. In every way...
Inside, professional dancers hung from the ceiling, moving celestially amidst large golden hoops as if nothing but air was holding them up. White and black feathers accompanied some of the warm lights throughout the place, creating extravagant shadows up on the walls and across the sleek and spotless floors. Music blared from everywhere, blocking out one's thoughts to where they couldn't help focusing on anything other than this event, and its lavishness. The air itself was scented with vanilla and bourbon and champagne and promise, enveloping and enrapturing every person that set foot into the Lloyd domain.
