Marty tried the squawk box but since visitors are usually allowed in the north gate, he didn't want to walk all of the way. Marty got out the tire iron and got the floating tire free. Then he grabbed a small battery from Mr. Fusion. He put the battery on the floating tire and it started to work again. Marty quickly grabbed it before it could fly off and hopped the wall.
Marty commented, "Okay, Doc. Let's see what kind of nightmare alternate timeline I landed in this time." Marty walked towards town square. He said to himself, "Okay, Marty, nothing to be afraid of. It's just alternate Hill Valley that seemed to turn Annie into a cold person, at least to me. That doesn't mean it's full of post-apocalyptic biker gangs run by armies of Biff clones. Just take a deep breath and remember, we gotta find Doc..."
That's when Marty walked into town square and saw all of the changes. Hill Valley was oddly clean and there were a lot of Citizen Plus ads. There was a strange statue in the middle of it. Marty walked up to the courthouse.
He admitted, "Geez, my Hill Valley never looked this clean..." He continued to walk around and bumped into his Uncle Robert. He did a double take, "Uncle Robert?"
Robert huffed, "That's Officer Baines when I am on the clock to you, Martin. What's with the outfit? It's Thursday."
Marty raised a brow, "Well, yes it is Thursday?"
Robert huffed, "That means it is Polo Shirt Thursday! You are out of uniform. That's a violation of Civic Ordinance 9-Triple E. And you aren't wearing an ID. Another violation, Martin."
Marty demanded, "Uncle Robert, please. I just want to know what is going on. Why is Annie being cold to me?" Just then, Robert did a quick pat down. Marty questioned, "Will you please answer my questions!"
Robert pointed out, "I should be asking you questions, not the other way around. What's going on, Martin?"
Marty tried, "Do you know where I could find Doc, er, Citizen Brown?"
Robert stated, "And you are an honor student? Where do you think he is right now?"
Marty replied, "At work?"
Robert nodded, "That's right, he's working at the courthouse."
Marty questioned, "But seriously, what's with the pat down? Do you think I'm packing heat, Uncle...er Officer Baines?"
His uncle confirmed, "Heat, contraband..."
The youngest McFly repeated, "Contraband?"
Robert listed, "You know... Booze, smokes, bubblegum, dogs, circus peanuts..."
Marty muttered, "Bubblegum is illegal?"
Robert commented, "C'mon, Martin. You are smart enough to know that ignorance of the Civic Ordernace 2x8v isn't an excuse."
Marty asked, "Where is Annie?"
Robert started to say, "What's it to you? I thought that..."
Marty interrupted, "Please, I have to find her. Something is wrong."
Robert shook his head, "No, I don't know where she is. Last time I saw her was when she gets demerits."
Marty asked, "Since when have you been a cop? I thought you worked in Tokyo as one of the CEOs of a big company?"
Robert was confused, "I've always been a cop, just like my father."
Marty muttered, "Great. I've turned my uncle into a cop."
Robert told him, "I've got to finish my beat. Are you going to give me more trouble today?"
Marty answered, "No."
