Y/N's Pov.

"Take care, Y/N! Don't forget to call us!" My mom called from the front porch, her voice tinged with that familiar blend of pride and worry. My dad stood beside her, giving me a reassuring nod as I slid into the driver's seat of my old car.

"Yeah, I will! I promise!" I shouted back, forcing a smile. I didn't want them to see how nervous I was. As I turned the ignition, my heart raced. This is it. A new start.

I pulled out of the driveway, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety swell within me. Beach City-here I come. It was a long drive, but the familiar hum of the engine helped calm my nerves. The road stretched ahead, winding through hills and valleys as I left my childhood home behind.

What will it be like? Will I fit in? The questions swirled in my mind like the scenery rushing by. I'd never been the outgoing type, always preferring the company of books and video games over socializing. But this was different; I was going back to where it all began-where I used to play and laugh with Steven Universe, my childhood friend.

It's been years since I last saw him. The thought brought a smile to my face, along with a hint of nostalgia. We had shared countless adventures, exploring the beach and dreaming about the future. Then, everything changed when I moved away, and our lives drifted apart like the tides. But now, he'd invited me back, and I couldn't help but wonder if those carefree days could be rekindled.

As I drove, memories flooded back-Steven's infectious laughter, the warm glow of the beach during sunset, and the way he always made the impossible seem possible. I hope he hasn't changed too much.

My thoughts drifted to the Crystal Gems-Steven's second family, who had always been a part of his life. I remembered Pearl, with her graceful demeanor and unyielding determination. She was always so meticulous, so focused on doing things the "right" way, and I admired her dedication. But would she still be the same, or had she softened over the years?

Then there was Amethyst, wild and carefree, with a sense of humor that could light up the darkest days. I could still picture her goofy grin and the way she always knew how to have fun, even in the most serious situations. I felt a twinge of anxiety thinking about how she'd react to my return. Would she still be as easygoing as before, or had time changed her?

And Garnet-strong, stoic, and fiercely protective of those she cared about. I had always admired her calm confidence, a pillar of strength among the group. I couldn't help but wonder how she had changed, too. Would she still see me as a friend, or would she be more guarded now that we were older?

With each mile that passed, I felt a strange mix of anticipation and dread. What if things were different now? What if I didn't recognize them?

But deep down, I knew this was my chance to reclaim a piece of my past, to reconnect with friends who meant so much to me. I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, determination filling my heart. I won't waste this opportunity.

Finally, the familiar outline of Beach City emerged on the horizon, and my excitement surged. It's time to make new memories.

. . . .

As soon as I entered through the town, I began to drive and looked at the buildings that didn't change when I was still living here. There was Fishstew Pizza, Mr Smiley's Arcade..and the Big Donut! And you can't forget about Fryman's fries.

While driving however I noticed that there were colorful..and unique looking people walking around that kinda looked liked the crystal gems. Were they gems aswell? Not to mention in the distance over the hills at Delmarva..there was a new and strange looking settlement. Looks like the town's changed so much.

Eventually I entered the part of the beach where Steven lived and God I forgot how beautiful the view was out here. As I parked my car right outside the Beach House temple, it still gave me the creeps but the salty breeze carried the scent of the ocean, awakened old memories.

I stepped out, my heart racing as I spotted Steven waiting for me at the entrance. He looked older now-17 years old, his features more defined and his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Y/N!" he called, a wide grin spreading across his face.

"Steven!" I rushed over, and we embraced tightly. "It's so good to see you!"

"You too! You've grown so much! Come on, you can stay in the temple beach house!" His excitement was contagious, and I could hardly contain my own joy.

"I can't believe I'm finally back. I've missed this place."

"I have so much to tell you, Oh wait the gems would be so excited to-" Steven started, his words bubbling over with anticipation. But before he could finish, the familiar sound of the warp portal ring echoed behind us.

As the light shimmered, figures emerged from the portal, their silhouettes recognizable even from a distance.

"Y/N!" The Crystal Gems exclaimed in unison, their voices a chorus of surprise and warmth.

It was them..it was the crystal gems.
