A month passed, and Jimin’s visits became a regular occurrence. He casually hung out, bringing a bright energy to the Jeon household, especially for Mrs. Jeon, who would sit between Jin and Jimin, chatting animatedly about everything and anything. The laughter that filled the house was infectious, and even Jungkook found himself smirking at their banter from time to time, though he kept his distance.

Jimin and Jungkook tried their best to act cool around each other, pretending their hearts weren’t racing whenever the other was nearby. Jimin kept his admiration for Taehyung in check, watching from a distance as the older brother shared moments with Jin. But for Jin, it was different. Seeing Jungkook so reserved and distant was becoming increasingly difficult for him, especially when he couldn’t help but notice the way Jungkook’s gaze would drift toward Jimin. It was a reminder that things had changed, and it made Jin’s heart ache.

After class today, like any other day, both Jungkook and Jimin entered the house, looking forward to a quiet evening. However, as they stepped inside, their hearts dropped at the sight before them. Jin and Taehyung were sprawled comfortably on the couch, completely engrossed in a video game. Taehyung was animatedly shouting in frustration after losing a round, and Jin, laughing at his boy friend’s reaction, leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on Taehyung’s cheek to calm him down.

Jimin’s heart ached at the sight. It was still so new for him, this realization of how close Jin and Taehyung had become. He quickly looked away, forcing himself to focus on the ground, trying to suppress the tumultuous emotions swirling inside him. It was hard to watch, to see the affection shared so openly, knowing he might never experience that with Taehyung.

Meanwhile, Jungkook felt the familiar sting of jealousy claw at him. He was now a pro at hiding his emotions, standing still like a statue, acting normal even as turmoil raged within him. He shoved his hands deep into his hoodie pockets, trying to drown out the laughter and joy that filled the room. It was suffocating, the way his heart twisted at the sight of Jin’s easy affection toward Taehyung.

“Hey, you two! We thought you weren’t coming back,” Jin called out cheerfully, noticing Jungkook and Jimin standing awkwardly by the door. He gestured for them to join, oblivious to the tension brewing in the air.

“Yeah, we just... got back,” Jimin replied, forcing a smile even as he felt like he was shattering inside.

“Come on! You have to try this game! It’s epic!” Jin urged, his excitement palpable as he patted the spot next to him on the couch.

Jungkook glanced at Jimin, who hesitated, his eyes darting between the happy couple and his best friend. He felt a tug of desperation, wanting to pull Jimin away, to save him from this awkwardness, but instead, he swallowed hard and took a step forward.

"No need. We have a project to work on. Let's go. Jimin." Jungkook said, coldly as he walked to his bedroom. Jimin, feeling the need to cry, smiled at Jin and Taehyung before walking behind Jungkook.

Taehyung continued to play while Jin, he watched as the two vanished in Jungkook's room. Jungkook's room was forbidden for anyone to enter, even Jin. But Jimin could enter it casually and this made Jin...feel something.

Jungkook and Jimin sat in the dim light of Jungkook's room, an air of heavy silence enveloping them. The only sound was the faint scratching of pencil on paper, a rhythm that marked Jungkook’s pain. He was drawing again, a familiar figure captured on the pages of the sketchbook Jin had gifted him years ago. This sketch was no different from countless others; it was another attempt to immortalize Jin's essence—his smile, his laughter, the way his hair caught the light. Yet each stroke felt like a dagger in his heart, reminding him of the distance between them.
