The Marketplace

Xander was walking in the marketplace as two of his bodyguards was following closely beside him.

A crowd of people caught his attention. He walks towards them and they all moved out of the way with a bow when they noticed him, the royal Prince of the Duvalier family.

There was a man whom he never seen before, showing a little girl a card trick. Xander watches as the girl's expression changed to a shocked face when the man made the card disappear in front of her own eyes.

Xander watched him with awe. He has never seen anyone do such a wonderful trick before. He couldn't help but keep watching the man as he did more tricks.

Soon, the little girl went back to her mother, leaving the man. Though, Xander still had his eyes fixated at the mysterious man. The man noticed him and quickly bowed down.

"Your royal highness..." He said to Xander.

Xander's eyes widen, realising that he had been caught watching. He clears his throat and walked closer.

"Hello," He said in a deep, cold, and elegant tone. "That was quite a magic show you're putting on."

"It was just a simple trick. Nothing special about it." replied the man as he smiled to Xander

Xander let out a soft chuckle. "It looked pretty damn special. How the hell did you make the card disappear like that?" He asks, curious on how the man did it.

"A magician never reveals his secrets."

(" Wow. How original") He thought to himself. He chuckles again, smiling slightly to himself. He crosses his arms, looked at him.

"Oh come on... I have to know. You wouldn't make a prince feel left out now, would you?"

"Would this make you happy?" said the man as he suddenly took out a rose from behind Xander's ear, handing it to him.

His eyes widen and his lips part in surprise as he pulled out a rose, making it appear as if it was behind his ear the whole time. He looks at the rose... and then to the man, looking impressed.

"...I can't say I've ever seen that one before," He said in a somewhat shocked tone. His cheeks tinge pink as he takes the rose.

After a moment, he looks back up at him with a small smirk.

"I'm impressed. You really are quite a talented magician," He said with a playful tone. He twirls the rose in his hand a couple of times.

The man then took out another rose from behind Xander's left ear.

"Ooh, here's another one!" He says, giving it again to him. Xander looks down at the two roses in his hands.

"Woah..you really are-" But as soon as he looked up, the man disappeared. Everyone else who was around gasped, including his bodyguards.

He just suddenly disappeared into thin air in just a blink of an eye.

Xander's eyes widened as he stares at the spot where the man once stood. All of the people around him were shocked and some were whispering to eachother.

"...What the hell..." He mumbled to himself, looking around for him. "Where did he-"

Suddenly, a whistle pierced the air, coming from the top of a nearby building's roof. It was the man, of course.

"See you again sometime, Your highness!" He said, smirking while he waved at him as he vanished again.

("Ah...I didn't even get his name.") Xander looked up and spotted him on the roof of the building above him. He sighs with a smirk, and shakes his head as he watches him wave him off before vanishing again.
