The group at Brendam awoke the next morning. They had gotten Over what had happened on the 8th and were now chatting.

"I just thought of something, the purgers might find us here, or so I think," Said Henrietta.

"I doubt they will," Said Thomas.

"I hope they don't find us, I need some peace," Murdoch said.

"I think you got enough of that," Mavis said.

"Cheeky," Scoffed Murdoch.

Before anything else happened, everyone heard noises coming from around them.

"ATTACK!" Yelled a purger.

The docks opened with gunfire as bullets went in all directions. Thankfully the engines raced off just seconds after it started, well, almost everyone.

"We left Harvey behind," Said Mavis as they passed Upper Brendam.

"It's too late to go back for him, he's dead," Said Thomas.

The engines didn't stop till they reached Wellsworth.

"Another attack, we all might be dead by tomorrow," Said Thomas.

"We might not be, The Ironworks is a safe place, we could go there," Said Mavis.

"Hopefully it's safe," Murdoch said.

"I do think Mavis has a point, we should head their as soon as possible,"

The engines quickly turned around and set off. On the way they felt a little giddy. However, the diddy feeling soon went away once they got to Killdane, and found Arthur sitting in the yard.

"Arthur, I thought you were staying at The Ironworks after you and Salty left," Said Murdoch

"Well, since yesterday, Me and Henry found Douglas at The Vicarstown bridge and talked to him. Today, BoCo and Salty went to see him. Not long ago, a group of purgers attacked The Ironworks and killed Henry,"

"My God, we were hoping to head to The Ironworks for safety, but now I don't know where to go," Thomas Said.

"I think we should head to Vicarstown for the diesels and Douglas," Said Arthur.

"For now I think it's a good idea," Mavis said.

So the engines set off again, the whole trip was stories of what had happened to them. By the time they finished, they were at The Vicarstown Bridge.

"Glad te see there are more survivors," Douglas said.

"Well, we are the only survivors," Said Thomas, coldly.

Everyone didn't need to be told more to know what that meant, as they all went pale.

"Purgers are everywhere, we can't survive these next few days without more death," Thomas said again.

"I doubt they'll end the purge early," Douglas said.

"I Don't even think we will be able to get back to normal, too many engines dead and too many places destroyed,"Murdoch said.

"If ye want, I can have a word with the police to see if after the purge, you all can come live on The Mainland," Douglas Said.

"Thanks Douglas, i'm glad your safe," Thomas said.

"Ye welcome, but by the way, what happened te the rest of ye?" Said the Scot.

So Douglas was given more info on what had happened to everyone else, finally getting caught up.

"Thank you, sorry about everything ye lost,"

"Thanks. Do you think you can give us tips on what to do for the next few days?" Thomas said.

"I would say, stay at Vicarstown for the night. Tomorrow head to Tidmouth and stay their unless you get attacked,"

"Good idea, Thanks,"

"Ye Welcome. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to try to talk to the police, I suggest you stay at Vicarstown for tonight,"

"Douglas, before you go, I just want to tell you, you were a great friend, and I'm glad you're not here," Said Thomas.

"Thank ye, and you were a great friend, I can say the same te the rest of ye," Said Douglas as he backed away.

After Douglas left, the engines and coaches went into Vicarstown Yard like Douglas said.

"Hopefully what Douglas said to do keeps us alive," BoCo said.

"Yes, hopefully it does,"

The engines didn't have anything else to say, so beside a few more words once in a while, they didn't say anything. Soon night came, and everyone in the yard could escape the cold purge for a few hours.
