Missy sat at the counter eating her cereal as Roger slowly watched the coffee machine drip down his coffee into the cup.
"How'd you sleep?" Roger asked tiredly
"Good." She lied. She's never slept good.
"Excited to meet the guys?" Roger asks cracking a smirk.
"A little, will John's kid be there?" Missy asked.
"Not sure, maybe. If not you'll meet him sometime this week. We usually have Friday dinners with everyone which always is-" Roger got cut off by the buzzer of the door and a voice ringing into the intercom.
"DAAAAAAAAARLING!" Missy covered her ears at the sudden sound.
Roger scoffed and walked over to the door pressing the intercom.
"It's 7:50 in the god damn morning Freddie, no yelling." Roger ordered pressing the unlock button for the door.
Freddie then burst in almost hitting Roger with the door in the process. The blonde woman behind Freddie apologized as Freddie stuttered in.
"Where the hell is that child of yours! I've got her gifts you know, so has Mary haven't you?" Freddie asked. Mary was just about to answer when Freddie eyed Missy and gasped dramatically.
"THERE YOU ARE!" He exclaimed and ran over to her. Her guid immediately went up as she dodged Freddie's hug and ran to hide behind Roger.
Freddie stood their thinking to himself then smirked. "Don't tell me you've got a shy one." Freddie walked over and stock out her gift.
"From me and Mary dear. Welcome to the family." He says as Missy cautiously takes the gift from his hands.
Missy walked over to the couch and sat down. It was a blue gift bag with purple paper covering the gift. She looked up at Roger who then just nodded."You can open it." He said
Trust no one
Missy pulled the purple paper from the bag to reveal a small jewelry box. It was circular with cats all drawn on the front of it.
When she checked inside there was already a handful of rings and necklaces.
"Thank you." She said still staring down at the box in her lap. Freddie smiled at Mary and Roger.
"No problem kid, say can we get going or what?" Freddie elbowed Roger and he rolled his eyes.
"If you insist, load up the truck everybody we got some driving to do." Roger said whipping his pointer finger in the air and walking towards the door.
Everyone followed not far behind. Missy being the last one out closed the door and held it shut for a while. It was only until her knuckles grew a pale white color that she let go.
"So darling what are you into? Music? Art?" Freddie asked.
" Biology." She answers. She wasn't ever really into anything but she always liked nature so biology was what she was strongest in.
"Ooo science girl. That's new." Mary smiled.
"She's pretty smart so I'm not surprised." Roger winked and Missy smiled a bit flattered.
"Well, you can always use some smart girls out there in the science field. Not a lot are bold enough to try." Mary explained.
Secretly she couldn't care less about what they had to say to her. She was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to run. She didn't trust any of them. Sure she was adopted but how could she know for sure that he wanted her?
