Marinette would often get random messages from the Kent family. She would often answer politely and simply then leave it.
They were avoiding the issues and they all knew it.
They Kent family were desperate to make amends with Marinette.
But as it stood she wasn't ready. Not really. She didn't trust them completely yet. She would admit she warmed up a little more to Lois, but they had talked properly a few times. She could tell how truly remorseful she was.
Adrien had managed to convince his mother to stay in Paris until he graduated. During this time, he spent almost all of his free time with Marinette.
He was the only one in the team who would still transform with her sometimes.
Marinette also spent a lot of time flying back and forth from Gotham to see Damien.
Frankly, he was her saving grace through the rest of the year a long with Adrien.
Sometimes she would fly over when it was night for him and just snuggle up to him in bed and they would lay there in silence for hours with only each other's company.
Things ... Had gone downhill at school...
Adrien was at school less due to his mother's reappearance and the verdict on Gabriel Agreste.
Without Hawkmoth and the heroes to focus on, Lila dug her claws in a bit more aggressively. But never really to make Marinette seem like a bad person, but often making her look stupid, lacking or useless and herself look amazing.
It wasn't dissimilar to what she experienced in Metropolis.
She didn't tell anyone about it, she could put up with it until graduation. It's not like they could do anything if it got physical.
She had the rest of her old team of course. They stuck by her at school... But that was it.
They tried their best but it got to the point where Marinette told them to stop. They would have just become targets too.
Graduation was rapidly approaching. Meaning the time she said she would go back to Metropolis was getting closer too...
She felt slightly sick at the thought, if she was honest.
She ignored that worry to focus on her remaining roles as class president, helping some of the other class presidents put things together for their graduation.
As far as Marinette knew, only Damien, Kara and Gina Dupain (who had taken a liking to her) were coming to her graduation. Tom and Sabine weren't obligated to, they were busy and she wasn't that close with them anyway.
She was happy with this.
...
She was happy about that right?...
..~~..
Graduation day came and Marinette had met up with Adrien early to get ready.
Once they got there, they took their seats near the front.
It was only when Marinette stepped up to make her brief class Rep speech that she spotted them...
Clark Kent... Lois Lane-Kent... Jon Kent... And Konner Kent sitting together with Kara, Damien and Gina.
Damien had a shit eating smirk plastered on his face as she realised.
Konner was shifting uncomfortably in his suit, obviously not liking the formal wear.
Jon was looking up at her with a timid but proud smile.
