Shadows Within
In the depths of silence, where whispers reside,
A weight presses down, like an unyielding tide.
Days stretch like shadows, long and forlorn,
Wrapped in a blanket of heavy, dark scorn. The sun rises slowly, yet warmth feels so far,
Each morning a battle, each breath a new scar.
A smile is a mask, painted over the pain,
Hiding the tempest, the heart's quiet strain. In rooms filled with laughter, I stand on the edge,
A ghost in the light, teetering on a ledge.
Voices surround me, yet I feel so alone,
In a crowd full of faces, I wander unknown. The colors once vibrant now fade into gray,
As hope slips away, like the end of the day.
Thoughts swirl like leaves in an autumn-like breeze,
Tangled and restless, they bring me to my knees. The mirror reflects a stranger I fear,
A shadow of someone who once held so dear.
But beneath all the sorrow, a flicker remains,
A whisper of courage that fights through the chains. So I gather the pieces, though shattered they be,
And piece them together, a mosaic of me.
With each step I take, though the path may be steep,
I learn to find solace, in the promises I keep. For within the darkness, the faintest light glows,
A spark of resilience that quietly grows.
And though the road may be rugged, the journey is mine,
In the depths of the struggle, I'll learn to define. So here's to the battles, the scars we embrace,
To the strength that we find in this fragile space.
For through the shadows, there's beauty in fight,
A testament forged in the depths of the night.
