The day Zahra and Hisham had been anticipating finally arrived—their nikah, the Islamic marriage ceremony, where they would officially become husband and wife.

Zahra woke up early that morning, and her mother helped her with her hijab.

"You look beautiful, sweetie. Today.. you begin a new chapter in your life. I'm so proud of the woman you've become."

Her mother kissed Zahra's forehead.

"Thank you, Mama.."

In another part of the city, Hisham stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his suit as his father, Abdullah stood by his side.

"Are you ready, son?"

"Yes, I'm ready.. I've been waiting for this day for what feels like a lifetime. I just hope I can live up to the responsibilities and blessings that come with it."

"Marriage isn't about perfection, Hisham.. it's about growing together, supporting each other, and trusting to Allah. You and Zahra have already shown that you're ready for this step."

The venue for the nikah was simple but elegant. A small masjid that held a special place in both their hearts.

As Zahra and her family arrived at the masjid, she felt a surge of calmness wash over her.

Hisham stood inside the masjid with his family, waiting for Zahra to arrive.

The imam greeted the families warmly as they settled into their seats.

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for—the signing of the nikah contract.

The imam asked Hisham..

"Do you, Hisham.. accept Zahra as your wife in accordance with the teachings of Islam, with the agreed-upon mahr and all the responsibilities that come with marriage?"

"Yes, I do."

As the contract was signed, Zahra was happy as she realized she was now Hisham's wife.

"We're really married, Hisham."

Hisham gently taking her hands in his.

"Yes, we are. And I promise, Zahra.. I'll do my best to always honor this commitment, to be the husband you deserve."

Zahra's heart melted at his words.
