I groaned at the alarm clock, stupid professors decided to make all my classes from six to one. I guess it was okay since I did have work in the afternoon.
I turned off the alarm and got out of bed and went to my tiny closet grabbing a tank top and jeans, going back for a cardigan once I checked the weather.
Approaching my desk-vanity I took a seat trying to push yesterday's thoughts out of my head.
I took out my hair that was in a messy bun and let my tangled curls fall down my back, ending at my waist.
I wet it a little before applying my chapstick and getting up.
"Elena, wake up." I shook her softly.
"Five more minutes, you bitch."
I chuckled adding five minutes to the alarm before grabbing my bag and heading to my first class, chemistry.
I stood outside the door, behind a small line of people.
The doors opened and everyone walked in and took their seats, as did I.
I sat in the back today, not wanting to get called on by the jerk face professor.
Soon everyone arrived, including Elena, who sat next to her boyfriend today.
The professor started speaking and I could feel a headache coming.
"As I said yesterday, we have a special guest toda-" he was interrupted by a loud knock on the door.
"That must be them."
I sat in my seat my attention now drawn to the door, like everyone else's.
Chatter filled the room as Mr. Weer approached the door, opening it.
Two men stepped in. Two very familiar men.
Green and blue eyes clouded my vision. Om-fucking-g.
It was them, from the alley. I sunk in my seat. Everyone immediately stopped talking once they walked in, showing respect for them. Who were these guys?
I bit my lip as they stepped up on the floor next to the professor, who also seemed very nervous.
Why did they have this effect on people?
"Class please welcome, S-Salvatore and Gian Russo."
Then it hit me, the two rich billionaires were from Italy, they were rumored to run a gang. They were practically famous.
I mean surely I thought the rumors weren't true, but that would explain last night, they killed a man so effortlessly.
I felt fear rise in me, oh no, what if they kill me?
I sunk in my seat even more.
Mr. Weer continues "Mr. Russos have politely offered us a tour of their enterprise, in Italy. They have fully funded the trip, in return for our work."
Our work?
"Only the top twenty students will be coming, and those students will take a job at the enterprise for a week."
Work at their company for a week? That would be great for my resume, but right now I wanted nothing to do with them.
Mr. Weer cleared his throat for the a hundred time "I will now let them take over."
He stepped back and sat at his desk leaving the tall mysterious men.
"We have some rules and expectations for the students who are selected." The one with blue eyes who I now know as Gian spoke in a thick Italian accent.
The other one, Salvatore, spoke next with a similar accent. "You will not go exploring in the buildings."
Gian took over "Or touch anything."
Then Salvatore "Follow your director at all times."
"And lastly, absolutely no foolishness, this is a honor to be able to travel to Italy and visit, so do not waste it."
Everyone nodded as they spoke, almost as if they knew not to defy.
"If I call out your name raise your hand and come stand up here." Mr. Weer said.
Oh god, please not me! I regret doing all the studying and work, I would trade it all for a F right now.
"Vanessa L."
"Liam T."
"Elena M."
He called out about fifteen more names and I sighed in relief each time he didn't call me.
"Izabel F."
Ok, only one more name, then we're safe.
"And lastly.." he searched the paper.
"Oh here it is!"
I felt anticipation in my stomach as he read out the last words.
"Camilla D."
My heart dropped and I froze. The person beside me nudged me, I hesitated before raising my hand.
Maybe they didn't see me last night.
I got out of the seat with shaky legs and walked up onto the "stage" like floor.
The only spot right next to Salvatore, since the other nineteenth people stood as far away as possible.
I walked in between him and another girl, trying to be as close as possible to the girl.
"Congrats students, the trip is in two weeks, and you must fill out this paper."
Mr. Weer spoke as he handed out papers to all students on the stage.
I gulped as he reached me and took my paper quickly.
"Are you okay Ms. Daniels?" Mr. Weer asked looking at me, drawing everyone's attention. Including theirs.
I nodded in hopes he would leave me alone, but it was too late, they already locked eyes with me, their eyes darkening.
They definitely remembered me.
I immediately looked down before the timer dinged, and I ran to my seat grabbing my bags before exiting.
Well shit.
