Fair warning, I wrote some of this [like 4ish chapters] in advance. I may not stick to it, but I had to get the idea out. It was gnawing at me.
K thanks for reading (:

My boyfriend's step brother
"Derek we're never going to finish this project unless you put the phone down and focus." I sighed, pushing my science homework to the side and snatching up my boyfriend's phone. He was attached at the hip to this thing, always having something more important than his or my future.
"I'm sorry Sophie but you know the big fair is next week and I'm the coordinator." He said, reaching for his phone. "Of course I know, but could you at least help me a little? I'm lost, because I've been helping you with this damn fair for the past week." I sighed once more, handing the isolator back to him.
"Well when is the project due?"
"In 2 days. I didn't call you over on a Monday night for nothing."
"I thought you just wanted to spend time with me baby." He grinned, sparing me a glance before typing away at his cell. That thing was going right down the toilet whenever he set it down.
"I do, but you promised me two weeks ago that you'd help me finish this thing. Didn't you already do it anyways?" I said in frustration, hitting his arm. "Yeah, doesn't mean I got a good grade on it." He chuckled, setting his phone down and picking up my text book.
"Are you serious? I think a rock would be better help than you."
"Okay fine, but can you finish this on your own? Tyler needs me to come and teach him how to speak Spanish. You're smart Soph, just read the book and write." He smirked, pecking my cheek and walking out.
How I managed to stay with that boy for two years, is beyond me. I guess it was his gorgeous light blue eyes, or heart stopping smile. Maybe it was because he was president of our whole school, and still manages to make time for extra curriculars. It could possibly be because he's a Senior and I'm a Junior, or probably because when I saw him, he made me fall head over heels.
He had a certain aura that just draws people to him. Everyone accused him of being a 'player' not being able to stick to one girl, but we started dating when I was a Freshman and he was a Sophmore. Now he's a Senior and I'm a Junior, and we're still together. Not one affair, not one lie. He's actually an amazing boyfriend, when he isn't caught up in school affairs.
And my parents loved him, even my little brother Alex. Alex doesn't like many people, since he's such an introvert. He doesn't like to talk, or play with boys his age, hell I think he believes girl's have cooties. When I was 11, I thought guys were the only way to be happy. But I was one of the popular girls then, never without a boyfriend. Alex isn't classified as popular. He's more like a...loner if you will. I just don't think he likes to be around people, so he keeps his nose in books and homework.
Unlike me. I don't know where he got that from. I'm always at parties, conversing and being social. I was probably the most popular girl at school, not to be arrogant or anything. Just stating the facts. People liked to be around me, and I loved to be around people. Public speaking is a breeze for me and debates, you don't even want to go against me. I'm just a people person, and I guess Alex got the opposite trait.
Derek made Alex feel like he was a somebody, always playing games with him and trying to hang out with him. That was a plus, a guy who's good with your family.
My father talked colleges with Derek, saying how we shouldn't go to colleges to far apart. My mother made him cookies, went to spa's with his mother and even threw him a birthday party last year. It's hard to believe my uptight parents were so accepting of their almost 17 year old daughter's first serious boyfriend.
