BEEP.

BEEP.

BEEP.

'Ugh... Already?'

BEEP.

BEEP.

BEEP.

A woman who laid on her side hugged the pillow she held tighter, burying her face deeper into the cool cushion.

BEEP.

BEEP.

BEEP.

'Maybe I should call off today...'

BEEP.

BEEP.

BEEP.

'No, I shouldn't.'

The woman cracked open her eyes and rolled onto her back, hearing three consecutive beeps one more time as she stared at the white popcorn ceiling.

BEEP.

BEEP.

BEEP.

She slowly sat up and placed the pillow down next to her, pushing her long dark hair back away from her face as she yawned.

BEEP.

BEEP.

B-

'Finally... peace...'

The woman pulled her hand away from her alarm clock, staring at the glowing green "7:03AM" for a moment before finally getting out of bed.

She trudged to the bathroom, cleaning herself up with half-lidded eyes while trying to wake herself up quicker by splashing cold water onto her face.

The woman quickly ate cereal for breakfast before heading back to her room, swiftly putting on a polo and black pants for work.

Getting ready was easy for her, she's been doing the same thing for years.

But getting up out of bed was still hard for the woman to do, even with the dreadful sound of her alarm ringing every seven in the morning.

She grabbed her keys, her phone, her wallet, and everything else she needed for work, lingering a little besides her calendar that was pinned up right next to her bedroom door.

MAY 7th

"..."

The woman looked away, heading out of her small apartment as she locked her front door.

Another day of work was waiting for her.

...

...

...

...

...

"Thank you for your hard work today. Get home safely."

The woman nodded, bowing slightly in respect to a coworker, "good night, you too."

As she walked out of the building, the woman ambled to her car, sitting in the darkness for a few moments before starting the engine to head home.

Another day was done.

The woman stretched as she came out of the shower with clean clothes on, heading to the small kitchen and rummaging through what she had.

"Hm..."

'I guess I could make some...'

She grabbed a few items from both the refrigerator and pantry, boiling some water in the process as she laid the stuff out on the counter.
