TITLE- 8.5/10 It is a straightforward and attention-grabbing title. It conveys the book's themes.
COVER- 8.5/10 The cover of "Damn Your Lies" is eye-catching with its dark background and glowing gold elements. The bold title and the central gem is very attractive. Also congratulations on being the finalist!!
BLURB- 8/10 The blurb is nice and well written. The ending of the blurb is nice, ends with a question which draws the reader in and make them want to read on.
FIRST IMPRESSION- ( 4/5) After seeing the title, cover and the blurb I had some good expectations and after reading the chapters damn it was exactly what I expected. The aesthetic of the book is nice.
WRITING STYLE & GRAMMAR- (27/30) The flow of the book is smooth and good. Your writing style is nice but it could be improved and your grammar is fine too. I found only a couple of tiny flaws, easily overlooked but still proof read properly before publishing. Your way of explaining things creates a suspenseful vibe, which is really nice
POVs/NARRATOR- (5/5) The book is written from the main character, Regina's pov and all her thoughts and actions were very well explained, Even when she describes the emotions and actions of others, the narrative remains crystal clear, making it easy to visualize and understand.
PLOT- (16/20) Historical Fiction isn't my go-to genre but I enjoyed the concept of this story. I love how the female protagonist radiates so much power and confident through her words. The concept of this story is similar to a kdrama named "High school Return of a Gangster", which I loved. I'm happy to say that I enjoyed the book just as much!
OVERALL IMPRESSION- ( 8/10) The aesthetic, dialogue, characters everything is great. The plot is very nice. The writing style is engaging and the smooth flow made it easy to be immersed in the story. Overall it's a good book!
