Azraq's POV:
"AZRAQ!", I closed my eyes in annoyance, meeting with the sound of the scattered glass bottle.
"Breakup means breakup. I'll no longer endure your tantrums. Any last words?", declaring that, I leaned against the wall. I glared at her, getting impatient.
"Az, you can't do that...", her voice came up being cracked. Her hazel eyes were shedding tears like fountain. Her smokey makeup? You don't need to know about that.
" Listen, girl. Three, all THREE of your besties got dumped by him, INFRONT of your eyes, in a matter of two weeks. I've warned you. Your tears have no meaning now. All drama", said Carter, my best bud, with his eyes rolling.
I took a swig of the wine. Man it tastes honey! "Are you done?", I asked her, smirking a bit.
" I'm not done, Az. You're done.", she exclaimed glaring at me. I hold back my urge to make fun of her.
"These threats are weaker than my shoe lace", I laughed at my comeback, doing a high-five with my bud. Uh oh, I can sense a turmoil. I lightly patted Carter's shoulder, "Handle her, dude. I'm too tired for it. Meet me outside", I whispered to him before getting out, avoiding the unpleasant shouts of Allura.
I almost tripped on my shoe lace before the gate. I sweared loudly, earning giggles form some girls. Disgusting!
I stood outside taking deep breaths. The breeze is really fresh today. It's pretty rare here, especially at night. I looked at my watch, 10 at night? Too early. That's when I felt something fluffy brushing against my denim trousers.
" Hey there, kitty", she brought an immediate smile to my face. I bent down and started brushing her snowy fur with my palm. "Look at you, all skin and bone, yet so cute!"
"Are you done, man?", I looked up from my height. Carter was there standing crossing his arms, looking pleasantly at the cat.
"How it went?", I asked looking at her again, petting her ears.
" So far, so worse. How do you always get the cringest girls of all?", asked Cart, scrunching his nose. I chucked a bit.
"Got some bucks?", I askes looking at him, signalling my eyes to the cat.
"Use your card, dude. I ain't sparing my cash for some cat foods. Too expensive, I mean" What. Did. He. Say?! I loured at him, using one of my famous death glares.
"Ok, ok. Don't get angry. I'mma come back with one of the tastiest, sweetest, most delicious cat food you've ever ate- I mean, you've ever seen!", he ran down the lane before I could playfully raise my hand at him. Got the best humor!
I looked at the kitten's eyes. Her ocean blue eyes got me attached to her even more. Just as Blue as my name, I thought. She looked at me with an expression that I couldn't read. I just awed...
"Here, try some yourself", I heard before I got hit by the packet. I stared at it for some moment.
"You're telling me that I'm a cat?" I asked raising an eyebrow. He just laughed it away. I started feeding her thinking what to name the kitten, as it's the 4th time I met her.
"You just look like a different person here, Azraq", I got shocked at Cart's statement. I looked at my position. Wow, I'm doing this for a kitten. Good one, Azraq!
"It's called love, Carter", I'll kill him if he laughs at this. What's wrong with me?
"Yeah, whatever. Who's your next target anyway?", asked Carter casually.
" Mehh, ditched three-fourth of girls from the club. Gotta take a week off", I said in a tired tone. He leaned against the railing of the bridge, looking at both of us, mumbling his day.
Azraq's POV ends
"Trust me, I've tried my best to get Azraq to the mosque today. Even Afaan pleaded him to go", said Areena with a restless tone.
"He is twenty-six, Areena. TWENTY-SIX! You're still telling me that he doesn’t understand?!", frowned Maher. "Where will my respect go after him, Areena...? What will I answer to Allah?", he ran his palm on his face out of anxiety.
"It's not like he doesn’t understand, Maher. He doesn’t want to understand..." said Areena, putting her hand on her husband's shoulder.
"Azie is bacckkk, Umii!", shouted their 9 year old kid. They were startled as Azraq typically comes back after 2.
"Why didn’t you sleep yet, Afaan??!", yelled back Areena. "Ugh what would I do with that kid?", she ran to him to see Azraq bending down to his height, whispering something to Afaan's ear. Afaan was giggling putting his hand on his mouth.
Both brothers jumped up in horror seeing their mother coming. "Azieee, halt back!", shouted Afaan putting in protecting hands before Azraq, while Azraq was laughing.
"Afaan, it's ticking 11. I'm not waking you up tomorrow for school", said Areena crossing her arms.
"Umi, it's Taraaz's birthday tomorrow! No way, I'm missing that. I'm going to bed. In 2 minutes and 37 seconds, you'll find a sleeping bear with his favourite dump truck in his hand!", mumbled Afaan enthusiastically, marching like a soldier to his room.
Areena, chucked at him before sighing at Azraq. " Your dad needs to talk with you, son"
Azraq scowled, "I'm not listening to dad's long winded speech tonight, mom. I'm tired"
"Azraq, listen-", Azraq closed his room's door and muttered from inside.
"I had my dinner with Cart after club. I'll talk tomorrow, I promise!"
She sighed thinking about his corrupt mindset. Her eyes welled up with tears. "Ya Allah, save my child Allah! Guide him to You..."
