Omniscient/Taehyungs POV

I strolled through the lively chaos of the kid's preschool, primary school, and intermediate school, guiding the kids toward their classrooms. With each drop-off, I repeated their names like a mantra, a way to cement our brief encounters into something memorable.

Once back at the orphanage, my mind drifted to one person-Jimin.

I was a pro at winning over little ones with toys, sweets, and bedtime stories, but Jimin was an adult, and he would see right through any of my attempts at bribery. So, I would have to create a friendship with him.

After an hour alone in the kitchen, I decided it was time to go see Jimin.

After climbing the staircase, I approached Jimin's bedroom, only to find the door invitingly ajar.

Peering in, I spotted him perched sideways on a cushioned bench, legs tucked beneath him, engrossed in a book.

"Hey." I greeted the other male so he knew of my presence.

"Hey." Jimin replied back, copying my words without saying anything more, however, he did look up from the book he held.

"What are you reading?" I asked him curiously.

"Erm, just a book." Jimin replied while closing the book.

"Why do you sound so suspicious?" I asked with a chuckle as I leaned on the door frame.

Jimin laughed himself, "I don't mean to sound suspicious," Jimin began.

"It's just it was a romance novel and I know males are stereotypically not supposed to be interested in reading such novels, so I hesitated to speak for a moment." Jimin honestly admitted.

"Oh, no need. I won't pry further if it makes you uncomfortable, I don't want you to think I'd judging you." I stated.

"I appreciate it," Jimin hummed.

"Are you going to just stand there?" Jimin asked straight afterwards.

"Oh, I can leave if I'm bothering you," I muttered.

"No," Jimin gushed out, "I mean, you're welcome to come into my bedroom. No need to stand in the doorway. Make yourself comfortable." Jimin warmly invited.

"Oh, thank you." I mumbled while walking into Jimin's bedroom before sitting down at his desk chair that was not far from where Jimin sat on his bench covered in cushions.

"Do you normally read books during the day?" I asked him curiously and Jimin nodded before answering.

"I read, I do other stuff too. It kind of just depends on if I will be working or whether the other kids are here." Jimin replied and I nodded.

"You don't have much to do right now?" I asked and Jimin shook his head.

"Not exactly, why?" Jimin asked as he raised one of his eyebrows.

"I just made a bunch of cupcakes. I thought maybe you'd be interested in icing them with me." I admitted.

Jimin softly chuckled, but I could see a spark of excitement light up in his eyes.

"You didn't burn down the kitchen did you?" Jimin teased with a cocked eyebrow.

My mouth fell slightly agape, "Do I look like the type of person to burn down the kitchen?" I gasped out.

Jimins smile did not fade as he shook his head.

"No, but you don't exactly look like a baker." Jimin admitted.

"Well, how about if you help me ice them, you can taste test one and tell me how good I did." I replied.

He set his book aside and turned to face me fully. "Alright then," He said, a warm smile spreading across his face as I stood up.
