After a whole pack of beer outside, seated together on his porch, I laughed to myself

He walks back out with a new box, tugging something in his pocket before sitting back down beside me

"Replacment of lollipops I reckon" I clinked my beer with his, he smiled at me

"The adult version of one" he raised his glass to mine, clinking again before taking a skull

I sighed in relief, fuck it feels good to be numb and laughing about terrible things that have happened in our lives

This was all I needed, intoxication with my best friend

I didn't realise how sooner I should've visited him when he's always been in my corner

But god do I miss the times where I can talk to him, and hear his stories until we both feel like walking on egg shells again

I'm having the worst day of my life, with my best friend

And I wouldn't have it any other way

I crushed the can, throwing it in the bin beside him and grabbed another from the box

Before he could call me out, I stopped him

"I need it"

That was all I needed to say for him to not stop me from drinking constantly

He sighs, watching me drink my life away

"Hey look, I'm sorry about what happened, and how you feel about where you stand as your mothers daughter. If there's anything I can do—"

"Chan" I stopped him

I placed my beer onto the side table, planted my hand onto his shoulder

"You've made me feel better just by your presence. You've done more than enough for me"

We stayed seated, taking in the silence and the rain that wouldn't stop pouring outside

He offers me his cigarette he just lit up, I raised a brow

"Does Saena know you smoke?" I look at him suspiciously, he gulps after exhaling the smoke

"No, and I'd appreciate it if you don't let her know"
I rolled my eyes playfully, he chuckles

"How is she?"

"You know, same old. We haven't changed Hana and I'm sure you know that" he says confidently

I couldn't deny it, he was far from wrong

"But I see you've changed a lot"

I scoffed, taking a swig of my beer, I don't know how many times I've heard this but it's starting to sound more typical
