First things first-if you're the type to skip these sections, go ahead, it's mostly just me yapping. I'd probably do the same.
Now, for the curious ones who stuck around, here's the deal: this book didn't start out as a grand vision or well-planned masterpiece. I actually started writing it ages ago, then promptly abandoned it after one chapter. Why? I couldn't tell you. Life happened, I forgot about it, and it sat in a dusty corner of my laptop, untouched.
One day, while cleaning out old files, I found it again. I read the prologue and first chapter. So, I picked it back up and kept writing.
The original plot? Totally lost to time. But sometimes, it's better to just let the story take you where it wants to go.
So here we are.
About my writing-it's definitely a work in progress. I have no illusions of perfection, and chances are I'll cringe at my own words somewhere along the way. I'm always open to feedback, but I make no promises to change a thing. Sorry, not sorry.
I'm always in a love-hate relationship with my own work, which means I'll try my hardest, but also might decide to tear it all down halfway through. Let's hope that doesn't happen.
Quick warnings ahead:
Some of these chapters get really detailed. I'm not kidding. Violence? Of course. (It's a crime story?)But no forced relationships or anything like that-there's one brief moment, but it's handled with care.
Some scenes take a while to play out. I like details. Lots of them. So don't be surprised if a scene that could've taken one chapter take me, oh, three. Or five. (That's an exaggeration or maybe not.) Spare me your judgment :]
So, if you're one of those readers who loves fast pacing, buckle up. This might be a slow, scenic drive for you. Personally, I hate when books go over stuff too quickly, so, not here. You'll see everything unfold.
Some chapters will break into parts because suspense is fun and it keeps the plot rolling. If the flow ever confuses you, let me know. I'll happily explain it (and maybe rework it, maybe). In my head, though, it all makes sense.
Now, about the story itself:
It's dark, gritty, and very much centred in a world where violence is normal. So, no, the characters are not your everyday people. They're flawed. Toxic, obsessive, make terrible decisions and yes, sometimes downright murderous.
But in their own twisted way, they love each other, and that's all that matters here.
Also, there's a psycho. Does she end up with him? Absolutely not. Does he do wild, questionable things? For sure. Don't say I didn't warn you.
By the end of this, don't expect anyone to become a saint, please.
Also, don't keep too much expectations on me. You might think the main problem is over and you might find another one right behind it. 🤭
Finally, really.
This story is purely a product of my chaotic imagination. Any resemblance to real people, places, or events is entirely coincidental, unless you live in a crime-filled underworld, then I guess that's on you.
You might stumble across some comedic moments. No, that's not a mistake. There's no particular reason for it, other than the fact that I'm human, and sometimes my moods change. Sometimes you just need to laugh through the madness, and so do my characters.
Feel free to leave comments, vote, or just read in peace, I don't really care. I published this for my own sanity, I don't really care if anyone read or don't read it. But if you are, heh, just tell me what you think.
And finally, this book is my baby, flaws and all. I'm its biggest fan, and at the end of the day, that's what matters to me. So, no other people's opinions will be taken into consideration. Unless I committed a crime, thanks.
