AFTER IT ALL HAPPENED

I still can't remember the last time I was outside. I can't remember all my friends either. I can only remember my age, 10. The only person I can think of is Evan. Evan Afton, 10. He was my best friend before it all happened. I'm sure you're wondering, 'What happened?'  Well, I can't remember anything. But, what I am certain of is that this entire paragraph is a dream that I need to wake up from.
            'I need to return home.'

                       (EVAN'S POV)

I always get the feeling that life, I mean dead-life is all a lie. Last night I had a dream. In that dream was a girl. She reminded me of someone. That someone was very special to me before it all happened. I can't remember her name, but I will never forget the day she kissed me (ON THE CHEEK). Back then, I was overwhelmed by joy, but now, I feel nothing as I cannot remember who she is. I wish I could start to remember.

PANG!

Something hit my head. Large and metallic. It hurt-
                   *FLASHBACK*

"Oh Evie, you know you have to be braver!"
"But Cassy, I just can't! Michael's too scary!"
"Don't cry lovely, I'll always help you."
"But... What about when you're not there?"
"Don't worry, I'll always be with you. Physically and spiritually."
"Thank you Cassidy! You're the bestest friend ever!"

              *END OF FLASHBACK*

What was that? I just learned something new. Cassidy. Who was she? From the looks of it, she was probably a kind person. Her name. It means, 'curly haired' or 'clever'. Her hue was dyed a dark tint of brown, almost a bit black.

I pondered at the nicknames Evie and Cassy

I pondered at the nicknames Evie and Cassy. 'Evie. Cassy.'  'Evan. Cassidy?' Suddenly, I had remembered. Cassidy Brooks! The girl who kissed me! How could I have forgotten my best friend?
My cheeks flushed a bright red at the thought of her. I probably really liked her. As my cheeks began to soften in colour, I realised that a figure had started to approach me.

"Hello?" they said, familiar and soft.

I couldn't speak. I was unsure of what to do. I thought to myself, 'How am I supposed to reply?'

"I heard that," the figure stepped out of the shadows, appearing as a girl.
She had long curly locks, quite similar to Cassidy's, but with a fade of bloodshot red. She had a pale face with dark soulless eyes. Her head was tilted to one side and her mouth was completely out of sight. I couldn't help but get déjà vu because of her.

'Really?' I thought, testing it out.

"Yup"

'Wow!'

"I know, it's a quite handy skill."

'Sorry, but how can you talk with no mouth?'

"....... I'm not sure. But y'know, you don't have a mouth either, so I guess we're even."

Dodging her statement, I squeaked, "W-what i-i-is you-r-r nam-m-e?"

"Woah, you talked! But I don't really know."

'Mine is Evan.'

'I think I know who you are.'
